Necessity for newborns in cold winter months
When I was pregnant with my baby, I knew I wanted a cover that would keep her warm during the winter months without having to pile blankets on top of her. I hated how blankets would slide off my previous children when we'd carry them in their infant seat, dropping the blankets in snow, or nearly tripping me. With this cover, I could zip her in keeping her snuggly and warm. If it was extra cold or snowing, I'd add a light blanket inside, and the cover would hold it in place, even when she'd kick. But honestly, it's a warm enough blanket that most of the time the cover alone was sufficient, even when it was below freezing outside.
When my husband took the carseat to the technician before leaving the hospital, he overheard her telling the person ahead of him that the minky cover on his baby's seat was a fire hazard, and that he needed to take it off. Because this one is polyester, it passed the safety inspection, which was a great relief for us.
I was a little nervous about how it would work to have the flap cover her head, but there is plenty of room between her face and the cover for sufficient air flow. And since the outside is polyester, the water pretty much all just rolls off, leaving her warm and dry inside during rain and snowstorms. I also liked that the inside is so soft and gentle on the sensitive skin of newborns. It's the perfect color for both boys or girls, and is well-made, so it's something you can definitely use in subsequent pregnancies. I bought it for our Graco snug classic connect, and it fits great. I did have to pull it down extra tight in the back to make sure it fit correctly, but it stayed put fine and didn't cause any problems with buckling it in the car, either in the carseat base or with the belt going across the top. I imagine since it had a little excess, it would work great for larger carseats as well, like the chicco keyfit or graco 30.
I do wish the zipper would come down on both sides, instead of zipping up from the left to right, but that only really mattered when it started getting warm enough that she often didn't need the warmer blanket, so I ended up just taking it off. The flap would stay in place, whether I had her covered or not, so it didn't matter that much in normal winter use. I am able to quickly check on her, and if I need to take the blanket off, I can unzip it just throw it into the diaper bag since it can fold up so compact.
I'm curious how it will work next winter when she's 10 months. I have a feeling she will be too big for it then, but we'll see. I'm just so glad that we had it while she was a newborn! I highly recommend it for anyone who will have a newborn during cold winter months.

Fits Chicco Keyfit 30
Love this. keeps baby warm, easy to use. slips on, stays put, doesn't get in the way. zipper looks more 'natural' in real life.. not as gold as the seller photo appears, which was a pleasant surprise.

I love this. This is a must have for babies ...
I love this. This is a must have for babies in cold climates. It is perfect for keeping your little one warm but is also fuctional since you can adjust it to prevent overheating. Most importantly, it should not void your car seat warranty since it goes over the car seat like a shower cap and does not go between the baby and the carseat itself.
I stuff a thin fleece blanket underneath the car seat cover and once we are in the warm car or indoors I remove the blanket and unzip the carseat cover as much as I need so she doesn’t overheat.
Fits my graco snugride 35 lx perfectly. It does not move around and yet it is easy to put on. However, I still wanted to use my canopy to keep the sun and elements out of her face. I unvelcroed the back of the canopy from the car seat and put the car seat cover underneath it so I was able to use them both at the same time. It’s not perfect but the canopy can still do its job. You could also put the car seat cover over the canopy if the canopy is pushed all the way down if you do not want to use the canopy.

Great Idea for Winter Weather Babies.
Bought one a while back for my grandson who was born in Alaska during February. Needless to say, this was a welcomed gift for my daughter and son-in-law. It kept him warm and cuddled during those first few (frigid) months. It was such a great idea, I bought a newer version for my niece's baby. Now that winter has hit the Jersey shore, she too, finds it comforting and warm for her daughter and absolutely loves it. It's very lightweight, but you can tell how warm it will be and cleans great. If you have cold winters and a newborn, this is the perfect thing to have. No blankets are need which help keep the bulk down while going out to the stores or where ever!

This is an ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE in my opinion if you have a baby during the fall/winter months. Regular blankets will go flying off and not protect baby from the harsh cold as this thing does, even if you can manage to keep the blanket on top. It's so nice and warm and depending on the temperature, you can get away with putting baby just in this without hats or blankets, especially when using it in the fall. Completely worth the price, I would easily pay more for this if I had to. It's well made and fits over my Chicco keyfit 30 zip perfectly and I've used it on a Graco snugride 35 and it fit perfectly. Truly universal.

Great product, but missing a way to secure the flap
I bought this product before I read reviews in their entirety. I didn't know that the flap doesn't stay up and doesn't have a way to secure it in the even of rain or heavy wind (doesn't snow in Jacksonville, Fl). I tried to cancel the order but was too late, it had already shipped. When it arrived I took it out of the packaging and put it on the car seat we will be using and it didn't really fit like I wanted it to. The product sunk down into the car seat no matter how much I tried to stretch it further down. We have a Baby Trend Flex Loc infant car seat. The product does seem like it will be warm enough for mild winters though, but doesn't fit my needs.

This cover is great because I can still use it safely with her car seat without worrying about baby's safety since it doesn't not go behind baby. If I think it's too cold I just put a fleece blanket underneath before I zipper it up. This material is better than the fleece because water wicks away and it doesn't hold dust or dirt. It is easy to wipe off. I just wish it had a zipper on both sides just like the original bundle me. This one only has one zipper on one side.

It is warm and super soft on the inside
This works really well for our britax elite carseat. It fits, although a bit big the elastic works well to keep it in place. the flap on front would benefit from some velcrow or snaps or something to keep it in place. It makes me nervous putting the flap up temporarily because it sags so much onto baby's face. So i only do that for the 30 seconds it takes to get from house to heated car, then flip the flap back down and check on baby. If you leave the flap down, no problem. It is warm and super soft on the inside. The zip cover can come off completely if needed- but you don't have to take it off. You can unzip halfway and roll to one side to get baby in and out of the seat. It doesn't inhibit car seat safety because nothing is between child and restraints. Great cold weather cover.

Love the zip on top
Love the zip on top. Love that it does NOT thread into car seat belts and love that the whole thing slides off easily when required (never came off by itself though) if you want arctic temperature protection, will need another blanket under. I preferred layers of blanket and this to using a snow suit or jacket in the car seat- that's not safe and doesn't look comfy. Baby never once complained about being subjected to sub freezing temperatures.

LOVE this cover. Works great for freezing New England winters and keeps baby nice and warm. Fits our Graco Snuglock DXL perfectly. You can’t put the sunday visor up when it’s on so sunday gets in baby’s eyes but small price to pay for warmth.
