A VERY good camera at a very good price!
First, I should start by saying that I'm a professional Security Camera installer. Typically, I purchase only commercial/business quality cameras, directly from the manufacturer. Recently, a colleague told me to try this camera and suggested that I'd be surprised by the features, quality and price. Since I had ordered consumer-quality cameras from this manufacturer before (with very pleasing results), I decided to give it a try.
My colleague was right! This is a commercial-quality camera, being sold on AlumiGogo for a "consumer" price. I've had the camera for 2 days and tried to experience all of the features, before writing this review. If you're looking for a camera for your home or business, here's what you'll want to know:
The camera is packaged very well, with snug and secure foam protection. It arrived in perfect condition. I was expecting that the camera would have a thin, inexpensive housing, but that was NOT the case. The heavy, aluminum body of the camera suggests that it will be quite durable, even if mounted outdoors (it's IP66 rated) and the "screwless" case is completely tamper-proof. The 4" base is smaller than any other PTZ IP camera I've worked with, which will give you more options for mounting on a wall or ceiling. The included mounting bracket will work for most mountings, but for some outdoor installations, I'd probably use an additional "box" to contain the cables, etc.
The included instructions for getting started are pretty good. I suspect, if you've never installed an IP camera, you'll get scared about the complexity... but if you follow the instructions, you'll be fine. As an experienced installer, I just needed to know the IP Address and I was "off to the races". PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT a "wireless" (Wi-Fi) camera... it must be connected to an existing wired Ethernet network. In the instructions, they tell you where to download some great utilities (IP Search, CMS Pro, etc.), in a single download. That was a great thing to include. For less-experienced installers, they'll find those utilities invaluable.
About the camera (yeah, I know that's what you're most interested in). The picture is excellent. You may find others advertising higher resolutions, but, in my experience, the pictures are only marginally better, but consume more bandwidth (especially if you're using multiple cameras at a single location). I loved the PAN, TILT and ZOOM (3x) functions. They worked exactly as expected AND I really appreciated that the ZOOM works together with an Auto-Focus function keep the picture clear even when zooming (you can also manually focus for extra clarity or to change the focal point of a specific image). I also enjoyed the "Auto Pan" function, which lets you cover a wide area with constant movement (you can also create "paths" if you have specific areas you want to cover... though, in real life, I've never had much use for that function). The infrared works well (and automatically, at dark). I didn't test it to see if it really works for 30 meters (it probably does), but I usually don't have my cameras focused on distances that far away. In my test scenario, it worked great at 15 meters.
I downloaded the Android App and played with it and was very pleased with the full functionality of the application (yes, you can pan, tilt and zoom from the smartphone app). It's very well written. The only thing I did see (and couldn't really test) was how I'd split the screen if I had multiple cameras (e.g. 4 cameras on a single screen). I believe it's supported by both the application and JideTech's camera, but I can't verify that.
One last thing: For many of my business installations, I use an NVR for recording. The included ONVIF protocol makes this camera compatible with ONVIF NVR's... a big plus for larger installations. Keep in mind that, if you want to record video, it has to be done with an NVR (not included) or a PC/Smartphone Application (included). And you can't install a memory card into this camera!
OK, since nothing's perfect, you probably want to know the negatives, as well. I can help with that! POE (Power Over Internet) is very important to me. The camera INCLUDES a POE Splitter, so you can use a single, POE Ethernet Cable to supply both the power and the internet to the camera. The splitter included with my camera was defective and didn't work. I have plenty of splitters in stock, which worked perfectly AND it worked perfectly with a standard AC Adapter (12v 1a). I'm sure JideTech would have replaced the splitter, if I needed it, but I don't. That was the only functional problem I had. Another small problem: my Android App, was unable to scan the QR code on the camera (since I was setting up the camera on my office network, that wasn't an issue for me... but I was surprised it didn't scan. Finally, I love the PTX functions, but I would have preferred a larger zoom (maybe 5x vs the included 3x). OK, I know I'm being greedy! For most installations 3x is great, but I have some installations where I have to mount further away and the higher zoom would be helpful (but would certainly require a larger base/footprint).
Overall, this is a very good camera for professionals and less experienced installers. Certainly, if you're looking for a camera(s) for your home or small business, you'll love it. I was pleasantly surprised and I expect you will be, also.

PTZ keep going after power outage.
I have bought many IP cameras over the last few years and this one was one was one of the easiest to install. The picture quality is great and I'm just amazed by the PTZ. Most cameras when they loose power they will go to the default position. This camera I did the setup before installing it and I sat it to do a loop going from on side to the other. I disconnected the camera and went up the ladder to install it and to my surprise when I plugged in the power it continued the loop.

Customer service non-existant, Nice camera, works well
Update correction: There was a miscommunication regarding the free sd card. It is on it's way. No change on the motion detection alerts though. I have a few more days to play with it before deciding whether to return it or not.
Still no luck getting motion detection to send alerts to my phone. Also, the camera came with a card in the box offering a free 32gb micro sd card. It stated, after submitting a review I would receive my sd card in 7 days. I have attempted multiple times to reach customer service to find out where my card is, I have not received any response. I am concerned that there will be no support if/when I need it. I am still within my 30 days and will be returning the camera.
I've only had the camera up for 2 days. It is used indoors. So far, good picture quality, pan/tilt works well, night vision is good. Fairly simple to setup. Although the mobile app works well it could use some improvement. The included directions/help could be a little more detailed. Still working on motion detection configuration & other. Will provide an update soon.

Home and External Use
I've worked with a few other cameras and wanted to replace my front door camera which was an Amcrest 720p outdoor cam but it was not PTZ. the 1080p upgrade along with wide-angle view is great. I had to reverse the view and controls took a minute to get used to. the web interface is easy if you have worked with IP cameras before and set it up to a Synology surveillance system was a breeze using ONVIF and port 8999. I did give this its own port but it was pointless. For mobile I used the Ipcam app on Android and had to open the port 554, I did this so I could use a DDNS domain using port 8999 along with RTSP port 554 (both ports were forwarded on my router), this is how I got it to work externally. the directions and comments here are good but I did not think much about setting this up with 554 until I ran into an error on the app. I am not too sure about the other mobile apps since I use different cameras on my property but so far this one is working very well and doing what I need it to do with minimal effort.

Great POE PTZ camera, needs mobile apps and improvements in UI and mounting hardware
Let me preface this review by saying that I'm a moderately experienced IP camera user, having installed a number of similar cameras in the past. I feel I have a pretty good grasp of the basic concepts of the technology, and understand where some of the pain points are for a user like myself, much less for a person trying to do this for the very first time. I already have a home network that I set up myself (24-port switch with ethernet jacks in every room of the house) as well as an 8-port POE injector switch for cameras like this one. I received and installed this camera last night, replacing an older fixed dome camera.
For the price, this camera can't be beat, since it is POE, PTZ and HD with a fantastic picture.
The housing is solid and sturdy, but the mounting hardware leaves much to be desired, in my opinion. It uses a metal ring with three keyhole slots to mate up with three posts on the base of the camera housing. The ring does not allow the housing to sit flush with the mounting surface, and there was no included gasket to weatherproof. I used some silicone caulk to seal around the base, but this is not an ideal installation. The mounting is also not very secure, as someone can just grab the camera, twist, and pull it out.
The POE system requires an included power splitter; you can't just plug in an ethernet cable from a POE injector and go. The included splitter takes the POE and splits it back out into data and power cables. Not a problem, but make sure you understand how you are managing your cables. Personally, the camera I was replacing was already mounted on a box hanging under my eaves, and I was able to stuff it all inside the box. Depending on where you plan on mounting the camera, the logistics of managing the cables and splitter could give you a headache.
The software included with the camera is OK, not fantastic. It's clearly developed overseas and includes some rough translations to English. It was particularly unhelpful that some of the configuration screens would have a bunch of configurable parameters, with a button nearby labeled "Settings." It took a bit of fiddling around to figure out that pressing that button SAVES your settings changes. The first thing I tried to do was to change the admin password (I work in Information Security, so I'm acutely aware of the vulnerability of IoT devices with default passwords). The PC software wouldn't let me change the default account information. I was only able to do that via the browser app.
As with most IP cameras, modern browsers are a giant pain to work with, so it helps if you have IE 10 or earlier available. Even still, the web interface is a bit kludgy. In many instances, clicking on something would send me to a blank screen and I would have to hit the back button to get back to the camera view. I ran out of time last night, but wasn't able to successfully set up set points or patrolling. Hopefully I'll get that figured out later today.
I use Sighthound as a camera management and PC-based NVR system, and it picked up the camera with no problems, although it didn't recognize the manufacturer, just picked up the ONVIF stream.
Perhaps the single most disappointing thing about this camera is that there's no mobile app for remote viewing. I did end up getting IP Cam Viewer to work with it, but it took some poking and prodding. The app does a pretty exhaustive scan through an extensive list of camera manufacturers and models looking for a match, and actually returns a few that appear to be compatible (some that even give a video feed), but I found selecting some of them to be hit or miss. Sometimes I would get a video feed, but no ability to send PTZ commands to the camera. The generic settings that worked for me were: Type = ONVIF Camera, HTTP/ONVIF/port = 8999. I'm not sure I like the IP Cam Viewer app, but a few other apps I tried (like Owlr) were unable to connect to the camera. An iOS and Android viewer app from the manufacturer would be a major plus, if there was one.
Overall, I would have given this camera three stars because of the mounting hardware, clunky software and lack of a mobile app, but I feel at this price point (I paid $135) for the features and capabilities this camera provides, I couldn't give it less than four.

Point and Tilt mechanical function quit working within days of installation
I bought this camera based on its ability to support point, tilt, and zoom over higher output POE. Initially using the PTZ aspects, it functioned as expected. The second time I tried to use the point/tilt, the mechanism stopped working. Zoom still worked. I tried power cycle and rebooting the camera but nothing would restore the point and zoom camera motion. I tried it through both Blue Iris and the native web interface, neither worked. I am really disappointed.
The camera image is slightly better than the similar dome camera from Hikvision which was replaced.

Seems very sturdy and built well
Seems very sturdy and built well, but I could not get it to work with my NVR. My NVR supports ONVIF and this camera is supposed to support ONVIF as well. I have 2 other ONVIF PTZ cameras that work great. Just plug them in and they were automatically detected. Not sure whats wrong with this one.

Purchase for home security system
Despite being compatible with pan, tilt and zoom, it is best to purchase at this price. Also, since it also supports ONVIF, it can be easily incorporated into our own security system which I currently develop for my home.

camera does not work. It will not power up ...
camera does not work. It will not power up and the PTZ function does not work. Even the Jide Tech customer support could not get it working.
