Better than advertised!!!
So many products for 1911s claim one thing, yet fail to deliver. This is not the case. I installed it on my Rock Island Armory full frame 1911 and it fit like a glove. I installed a Streamlight TLR1 and it looks great!
If you want to give your 1911 a great makeover this is the one to go with!

All-In-All Good Rail System
My older 1991A1 didn't have picatinny rails on it and I wanted night capability by some means. I didn't want to modify the pistol by putting on tritium sights because I'd still have to tote a flashlight of some sort, so this looked like a viable alternative. It took about 5 minutes to remove the stock grips on the pistol and place the new rails on the pistol and the fit was perfect. The attachable LED flashlight slides on flawlessly and the flashlight will also fit a Sig 357 I own that has stock rails on it. The only downside to this rail system is the molded hard plastic grips. I am more accustomed to rubberized grips and, while the hard plastic grips have ridges to help grip, they could be a bit slippery especially in inclimate weather. I hope I never have the opportunity to find out. All in all, this is a good rail system if, like me, yours didn't come with one.

Well designed way to bring a railless 1911 into the 21st Century.
The Recover Tactical Grip and Rail System does exactly what they say, it gives you a good sized tactical rail mount on your 1911 pistol without ruining the ergonomics of the gun. I mounted mine on an inexpensive ATI Govenment Model Deluxe. Fit was about 95% perfect except for a tiny amount of gapping near the top of the front strap. 1911 frames vary a bit size wise, so slight fitment issues are expected. Nothing a bit of sanding wouldn't cure. The grip is comfortable for a hard plastic and my Tactical flashlight fit the rail perfectly.
All in all, I can highly recommended the ReCover CCH3 as an inexpensive and practical way to make a railless 1911 into a modern Tactical accessory friendly pistol.

Great idea, slightly flawed execution.
I am giving 4 stars for two reasons. First, it did not fit my Taurus PT1911. Taurus evidently is not 100% to spec, but for the price I am not going to complain. It fit my Norinco very well but I have not tried any of my Colts but I am sure they will fit no problem. Second, I find the gripping ridges to be uncomfortably sharp. I would prefer a textured finish as found on new Walther and H&K pistols. I plan on wrapping the grip in masking tape and knocking the ridges down with a file. The rail works well, and the hardware stayed tight after quite a few rounds downrange. I plan on using green Loctite wherever it ends up for good just for an extra level of security. Great idea, very slightly flawed execution. If I were the makers I would design a second generation as I can see by even a cursory examination that most fit issues could be very easily resolved by a minor redesign.

Excellent Addition to my Taurus PT 1911
I have been trying to find a good way to get a rail on my Taurus PT 1911 for some time now. This grip has been an excellent solution.
First I want to start with describing the overall quality. It is extremely comfortable and fits nicely into my hand. It is extremely durable and hasn't shown scratches even with me hitting it a bit. I got mine in phantom grey and it accents my 1911 perfectly.
Second on the list is the only negative I have. Once installed, there is a little bit of a gap underneath the trigger guard near the magwell. It is such a slight gap but knowing it's there bothers me a little. I'm not giving this any lower than 5 stars as this product fits such a wide range of 1911s that it would be unfair to give a low rating due to my slight issue.

Glad I bought it, but not as good of a fit as I hoped.
I'm pretty happy with this product overall. It looks awesome (see photos). It IS made of hard plastic, but the grip feels good. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because there is a gap down the middle of the system that I don't like as opposed to it fitting flush together.

Great product for the price point, very comfortable in hand.
I bought this item for my Rock Island 1911 45 ACP Tactical. It has a 4.25 inch barrel and is stock on everything else. The assembly was extremely easy except for the part where I had to sand the top edges around my safety and my slide to get a better fir. This was mentioned in comments earlier posted as well though so I was expecting this when it comes to the full size 1911's. The part itself fits great with 0 wobbling and no noisy parts squeaking when you are firing. My only reason for giving it 4 stars is the fact that it doesn't perfectly seal around the base of my grip and the sides are smooth so you don't really get the best handle on the weapon. Grip tape fixed that and made everything look uniform so overall an awesome product to avoid having your gun expensively re-tailored for a lower rail. I use a green laser on mine and it never moves and hasn't had to be re-sighted since.

Clever and it works well.
This is a clever little addition to a standard 1911 model firearm. When I bought my Colt Commander in the mid 1980s nobody was using rails on handguns, or if they were, I was unaware of it. So, I am glad to be able to mount a light under the barrel, and this seems to work well and is easy to install. It seems very stable. I have not yet had the opportunity to fire the weapon since installation, so may have to amend this, but it seems very solid. I cannot seem to be able to get a photo for it. Maybe later.

Just purchased this grip the other day and I have to say that out of the package the item was very impressive. High quality and very sturdy. I put this on a 1911-A1 mil spec and it was a perfect fit all over except for a millimeter gap next to the bottom of the gun. Noticeable under a magnifying glass but that's about it. Doesn't affect the use at all. It did add some width to the grip which made me have to adjust my grip a little but not a big deal at all. Very impressed and very easy to install. Took about 3 minutes with a screwdriver. I haven't installed any attachments or tried to put in a holster yet but will update ny review when I am able to upgrade my 1911 some more. Granted my 1911 G1 was supposed to look like the original 1911 with the wood grips but when I added this grip to it it gave it a more tactical and modern look which appeals to me.

GREAT PRODUCT !
I was a bit concerned by some of the reviews I read, but got it anyway....... what a great product !! NO issues at all, fit PERFECTLY, feels better than stock grips, and I get a rail on my GSG - 1911 without alot of cash. My 'GSG - 1911' is a .22 caliber 'Clone', it fit so well, I'll never remove it. Everyone who has seen it thinks it is 'Nice Looking' addition. The seller seems great as well, sent me an email asking if I was pleased or not, they asked if I was not happy, to please contact them to resolve any issues I may have. If you are interested at all, I say get it, you won't be disappointed !
