Works much better now but not perfect
arrived damaged of course. It seem everything I order these days is dropped out of a plane.. Too much pain in ass to return it so I strained it myself. Works much better now but not perfect.. Bit disappointed in the light gauge metal bends too easily. Espically if ups delivers it.

I usually only post positive reviews, I believe this is my first negative one. Package arrived beaten up, left on porch (I understand this is not the products fault). The tube, the feet slip into, was dented, I had to round it out, so they would slide in. On the tube the handle slides into, there are two collars that hold the spring loaded cam, that locks the handle in the down position. The collars are supposed to be welded on at 6 o'clock, so the detent will fit through the hole drilled into the tube. My left collar was welded on at about 5 o'clock. This was overcome by a judicious use of a uni-bit. The bolts are very difficult to thread onto the nut, there appears to be no taper to start the thread. It is doable, but I have not had this much difficulty getting a nut onto a bolt, in maybe forever. The instructions call the sheet metal screws that secure the feet into the tubes machine screws, (I know, bad translation from country of origin). My main issue is after assembling the parts, the table is supposed to swivel 360 degrees, and lock into top position and bottom position. Well as other reviewers pointed out, good luck with that. I have about three hours of adjusting the base supports, and use of trigger and pipe clamps to sorta get the plate to swivel. Getting the locks at all 4 corners to lock is not looking good right now. I am a licensed electrician, and have been assembling items for many years. I am reasonably competent mechanically. This is just for my hobbyist woodworking shop in my tiny basement. If I had the space I would have built a permanent miter station. For the hassle of building a crate to ship it back, versus the effort it's gonna require to make it work, I'll make it work. If I could just load it into my vehicle, drive an hour in each direction to return it, I would.
The killer in all this, it's a great concept. If they threw in some more execution, and charged $100-$150 more for it, I would be thrilled right now. If Festool made this (let's be honest, I wouldn't be able to afford it, but I would check Craigslist daily for a used one) it would be a work of art. Rigid, Milwaukee, Mikita, DeWalt, Bosch, and many others would have made this so it worked as expected, and I would have been happy with the product. I would think it would be an almost necessary tool for job sites, but alas. I don't know if their other products are any good, but I will not be trying any after this experience.

This product came packaged very well compared to what some of the other reviews I read on here claimed, but that did not help with the overall quality of this bench. While putting this bench together I could tell both braces were bent and not square straight from the manufacturer. I did my best to bend the pieces to get the bench completely assembled but once I finished I realized that the bench top would not swivel properly. Now every time I swivel the bench top I need to put one of my hips on each side of the bench to get both plastic locking mechanisms to latch properly. Also the hardware that is provided with this bench is verrrrry cheap. I cross threaded one of the allen bolts easily so be careful when assembling. Due to the way my bench swivels all the paint is scraping off the sides of the bench due to the bench being out of square. The rest of the bench works as advertised but the bench as a whole has a very cheap quality feel to it, and definitely does not work as advertised just based off the terrible quality of the components.

Great idea, but not perfect. Shipping was horrible, btw.
I would easily give this a 4 star, or even a 5 star, if it worked perfectly as advertised. But it just doesn't. It works pretty close as it is advertised, but not exactly. First off, I want to say perhaps something got caught up or bent during shipping. When the item arrived, I was pretty disappointed that the box was severely damaged. And I mean it had looked like it had been kicked in, stomped on, other hard and sharp objects beat and stabbed into the sides of the boxes, and then pushed and rolled down a rocky hill. It arrived really beat up. When I brought it into the garage I was sure there would be some severely damaged hardware therein. Well, some of the items were bent and the paint on some items even chipped. But I didn't want to bother with trying to return such a huge big item and having to pack everything backup, and try and fix the already terribly beat up box.
So....Unpacked and started to put it together. It went together pretty easily. Probably a quick 30 minutes to get it all done. I used my own tools instead of the included hardware to put it together. That helps with time and ease of assembly.
The reason for the 3 star: I went to add my Dewalt miter saw on, and that went pretty well and easy. Beware that the bolts are very chintzy, as I over-torqued on and it snapped in half. I didn't really even torque it down very hard and it still snapped. I'm pretty familiar with tooling around the garage, so trust me, I wasn't at all trying to gorilla it tight or anything. Luckily I had plenty of other hardware laying around in my parts bin. Everything miter saw wise went on and in just fine. I stood back inspecting everything before rotating it around to test. Reviewed the instructions again to be sure I wasn't missing anything, and I was ready to rotate and lock it into place. It rotated around just fine. But it didn't lock up on one side at all. I am sure one of the walls it came with was bent and favors out-of-square. That being said, if I want to lock both sides in place where the plastic grippers grab their proprietary notch in the metal wall, I need to now push the side over in order for the plastic gripper to reach the locking mechanism. I see in all the videos that the latch just latches in one try, but mine doesn't.
I'm going to have to take it all completely apart and diagnose where the bend is with my square(s), use a torch and try and bend it square again. I figure I'll have to wait till summer to do that when it gets warmer outside. I don't want to spend 3-4 hours fixing this in the absolute cold.
Anyways, the latch is my only gripe. Well, that and the shipping, too. Otherwise it is a solidly made item. For those who need more bench space in the garage and don't want to fight with pulling/storing the miter saw over and over, this is perfect. One of the best tools I have in the garage now. 3-stars for now. I'll report back when I fix it.

Great concept. I hope the second generation product is better.
I bought this because I need to save space in my shop. I love the concept, and I might buy another for my planer if the product improves over time. For now I'll give this a passing grade. Time will tell how it holds up.
I did not suffer the missing parts or damaged/bent panels as others have described. Assembly was fairly easy. Adjusting the spring loaded extension wings to the saw height is a bit trial and error. My brand new Bosch Sliding 10 inch saw (Model CM10GD) doesn't really fit within the dimensions of the cube when folded, the swivel arm poke through the back of the "cube" so the unit can't quite go up against the wall. I'll have to play with the mounts to move the saw forward or backward until I can find the sweet spot.
In my opinion, the catches and hardware need improvement. Raising and lowering the handle is not smooth, and you sort of need three hands to do it. Two hands to push in the springy-ball things that pokes through the steel tubes and and lock the handle in place and a third hand to raise the inverted u-shaped handle.
A third hand would be helpful for raising and lowering the supports that rise from the extension wings. The catches that hold the extension wings in the down position are pretty fussy. This is not really a problem for me but if you were moving this in and out of a truck or moving it around a job site the wings, if loose in the down position, could cause trouble. My main criticism is the plastic locks and levers to hold the table in the horizontal position. Although they seem to work, they don't have a positive feel when they lock. I fear the levers may break as they are a pretty light plastic. I'd prefer something more substantial. I may drill a hole through the table top and frame so I can insert a piece of iron rod as a safety so the table could never rotate in use if the latches failed.
I hope the second generation Portacube beefs up the hardware.

OK it's it's just a fancy table.
Cool idea, I like it, it uld use improvements, not impressed with it but like it enough to keep it. It does what it is suppose to do with some adjustments. I could say I would recommend it with some caviat. If you like it and have a need for this. Yep, buy it.

... some but in the end u will have the BEST miter saw table on the market today
Putting it together could be a little challenging for some but in the end u will have the BEST miter saw table on the market today! Had to make a small addition of 1/2" blocks between mounting rails and saw. Other than that, piece of cake. I LUV IT.

Arrived damaged, box was destroyed. It was also missing parts. For my needs it was too big and bulky, so I returned it for a refund.
