Nice looking and functional
First of all, the shipping speed on this desk was incredible. It arrived within a day or two of ordering!! It took me about 6 hours to put together, but I wasn't in any hurry, and as long as you take your time and follow the instructions, there is nothing complicated about it. (However, anyone with severe arthritis or a similar joint disorder should pay to have someone assemble this desk. While it's not physically demanding to assemble, neither is it particularly gentle on the joints to put in so many screws and cam locks. A cordless drill really helps, but there is still a lot of hand movement required.) The desk is good looking and quite stable/sturdy. Overall, I'm very pleased with the purchase. It's very functional and durable and a relatively very good price.

Excellent desk for the price. All parts were there and in great conditions!
Wow, I am impressed, the desk is excellent quality for the price. It does take about 4 hours to put together but like everyone says, it gives good instruction and all the pieces except for one were well marked. I priced similar desks locally and could not find anything under $400 and so this is excellent, of course the ones locally were already assembled but saving over 200 dollars and putting in about 4 hours of time, is well worth it to me. The desk arrived in two boxes, good idea so each box was not overpowering to move. The desk is already assembled and is just perfect for what I wanted which is to finish some scrapbooks I am making and after that, i can use it to keep office type products and pay bills etc, leaving my dining room table free.

Beautiful desk...assembly requires patience
I searched diligently for a nice desk under $200 locally and online. I was getting frustrated because there seem not to be a lot of choices , and some where just not that attractive. This desk caught my eye on another website but I waited a day to buy it because a lot of reviewers were complaining on how difficult the assembly was with the desk. It seemed like most people thought it was a very nice desk so I went ahead and ordered it. I received it rather quickly and shipping was free which was a plus.
I am going to agree and say the assemble requires patience; however, it is not as difficult as some mentioned. It has a lot of small parts, mostly screws. I think the reason for this is that this is a very well designed desk. I am in the middle of the pack as far as being handy, and I was able to handle it without much trouble. It did take me about 7 hours to put it together but I paced my self to make sure I did not mess up. Some people might cry at that amount of time but the end result is well worth it .
Now on to the desk itself...The wood on it feels like real wood , not like the cheap stuff you get at Walmart. It feels very sturdy not wobbly like some other furniture you sometimes buys. The designed is great in that you have a cabinet for your pc tower to hide it and you have filing cabinet and 2 drawers. I like the fact that you have some counter space between the your cabinets and top part of desk. It works great for little stuff like Ipods, etc. The desk is heavy so here is a tip... BUY MOVING MEN SLIDERS AND PUT ON THE LEGS TO MAKE IT EASY TO MOVE IT. I bought some at Target that stay on and they blend in very nice with the desk.
So in conclusion , yes I wish the desk assembly was less time consuming but the end result will make you forget about it. You can either buy an easy to assemble desk that you might find from Walmart and then you are not sure if you like it, or you can suffer a little bit putting it together and be in love with your new work station . I would buy this again. Hope it helps someone :)

this was not an easy desk to assemble
As was mentioned in many of the reviews, this was not an easy desk to assemble. For me, a 62 year old woman, it was extremely challenging screwing in the bolts. At first I tried using an electric screwdriver, as several reviewers advised to do this, but it didn't work. The screwdriver simply rotated without moving the bolt. I tried all the different torque positions on the tool. That's when I called the product support at Techni Mobili. Their representative was extremely helpful in talking me through the various steps in their manual. He told me DO NOT USE AN ELECTRIC SCREWDRIVER WITH THIS PRODUCT. They sent me a replacement part for the bolts I had damaged in my attempted assembly. I spent the next day putting the desk together with just the screwdriver that it came with and was able to do the whole thing without any help. However I had to use my entire body weight to screw in each bolt. A stronger larger person would probably not have this problem. It required a lot of patience. There are many parts involved. But the manual is excellent and all of the parts were in the two boxes that had been delivered.
The drawings showing how to assemble the desk are very clear and precise. It took me several days all told to assemble the desk. Once up and in place it is the perfect desk for my space. I've only had it for a few days so I can't speak about it's durability, but I was very impressed with the product support and assembly instructions.

I found this desk to be very easy to put together, very attractive, and am all around please. My first thought when buying furniture from AlumiGogo was that it would be flimsy or other signs of cheap quality. Not the case, it was heavy. That says a lot in and of itself, but to continue the only piece that could give the appearance of flimsy is the keyboard tray and that's to be expected right? Well even still I have a bad habit of leaning on it or shoving it in when irritable and it's holding up quite well! Decent Cable management my only complaint would be it doesn't fit huge cases but then again it's meant as an office desk not a gamer's paradise, which I've successfully turned it into. :)

Very functional, great looking, well-priced computer desk!
Probably one of the best things I have ever put my time and money into. Great price, great functionality, love it!
So I needed a proper computer desk for studying but also needed lots of drawers for all my stuff. Found this after diligent searching. This seemed to be the best bang for my buck. It arrived rather quickly. At first it was daunting. Lots of flat pieces. Mind you, I have never put anything together before. I thought about hiring someone to put it together for me but I wanted to prove to myself that I can do this. I took everything out and counted the pieces to make sure everything was there. There were a few chips here and there but nothing was damaged. They included a small screwdriver. I know others used a power tool but honestly if you don't have any power tools the screwdriver included will do just fine. I started to read the instructions and did as it said. A few of my family members were just watching me and eventually started to help me put some drawers together. I started to realize this wasn't so bad. The instructions were really clear. About halfway through I was questioning if we'd be able to finish in a day but before we knew it, we were attaching the surface of the desk and were nearly done! All in all, it took us a little over 5 hours, using 2-3 people, with mostly screwdrivers but once in a while we used the power tool.
What really helped was organizing the pieces. I lined up the wooden pieces by part number and the screws by alphabetical order. Having the extra hands helped a lot also. I really liked how the desk turned out. I was just so amazed how what came in a flat box is now a beautiful desk. I am even able to scoot my chair into the desk (though it just barely fits) so plan accordingly.
I just wish the drawers were deeper. Although that space between the surface and the drawers is nice to put things in, I realized if there was no space there the drawers could have been bigger. In the back of both drawer space there's a oval hole. I thought it was weird at first but found it to be quite useful when plugging things in. That hole allows the head of the cord to have some space instead of hitting the back of a solid desk. Also, I love the large desk space surface. I am able to fit so much on there. Good width and length. The compartment that can hold the computer has a shelf where you can put it in 2 positions (first position is pictured in the advertisement, and the second option you can put it a little below that to make 2 evenly spaced shelves). I'm probably going to take the door off of the computer department space because although it is nice aesthetically, it makes it hard to take my things in and out because it decreases the space a bit. The handles are very cute and feel good.
I seriously love this desk. It's a great price with simple instructions and easy to put together. If I, an inexperienced person, can put it together (with some help), you can do! Just be patient when screwing in the screws and all that. This desk is so worth it.

A Few Errors In The Instructions, But Nice Overall
I'm a professional audio/video installer for 30 years and I've assembled a lot of racks and desks and this one still took about 2 hours and 45 minutes, but then I'm very fastidious about detail. First, there are some errors in the instructions to look out for. Step 14 tells you to put hinge parts on the left and right side panels (1&2) of the CPU section. This is false, they go only on part one, the left side. It would be a bit weird if the door had hinges on both sides. The diagram also fails to show enough detail to be sure how to position these hinge parts. Before you separate the two hinge pieces, hold the hinge onto the left panel with the larger part facing outward. This is the position for the smaller (8A) piece. Only loosen the one raised screw on the hinges and slide the two apart. the other inset screw is for adjusting the hinges later.
Another problem, in step 21, you put the drawer rails onto the panels, three on each side. You will find later (Step 23), that when you go to lock the base to those panels, you can't access the locking cams on the bottom because the large drawer rail covers them. You will need to remove one of the rail screws and swing the rail aside to tighten, then put back.
The last thing is, there is a hole behind the keyboard tray for running cables through and a plastic piece that is not in the parts list nor anywhere in the instructions. It wouldn't be such a mystery, but the piece is too small to snap into the hole tightly and there are no screw holes to attach it. I guess you could either drill holes into the piece or glue it into the back panel. There is another snap-in piece that fits inside this that has an adjustable aspect.
Definitely use a cordless screwdriver for most of the assembly, but be careful not to over-torque. The most difficult pieces to put in are the larger locking pins because they tend to lean if you're not careful and could go in crooked. They need to be straight for proper assembly and don't tighten them any more than to the last thread.
Be VERY careful putting in the hanging file folder rods. They do warn you not to tighten them too much but even with slight finger tightening, you can go too far and they can punch through the drawer face.
"happydieter" commented that this desk was "very low" and that he/she was very short. I find this odd because I'm 6'6" with long legs and there is still over an inch of clearance above my knees and the keyboard tray with my legs bent at 90 degrees. It's taller than my old desk where my knees rub the bottom of the keyboard drawer.
The desk is very sturdy and looks nice. There are large oval cut-outs in the back panels so it is easy to run cables and also allows for heat to escape from your computer.
Since nobody seems to think people are actually interested in complete dimensions of a desk (huh?), here are some details:
Top desk width = 47-5/8"
Top desk depth = 23-5/8"
Top of desk height = 29-1/2"
Keyboard drawer width = 24-1/2"
Keyboard drawer depth = 11-13/16"
Keyboard drawer fully extended comes out 7-1/2" from desktop
Height from bottom of keyboard drawer = 25-1/2"
Height of CPU area (without middle shelf) = 21"
Width of CPU area = 10-1/2" (9-1/2" wide clearance to pass door)
Depth of CPU area = 17-1/4" (door closed)
Area above drawer and desktop = 4-3/4" height, about 13" wide)
Seating area between storage = 19-3/4" (narrow)
I am reducing my rating to four stars based on new discoveries. The middle area under the desk is a bit narrow and takes some getting used to when getting in and out so as not to hit your legs on the desk. The keyboard drawer is difficult to lock into the fully extended position; One side usually moves back a bit. The biggest disappointment is that the CPU area is not large enough for a computer that uses a regular ATX motherboard. Only those micro towers with the micro-ATX motherboards will fit. If you're computer shopping, this would mean cases that house at maximum boards that are 9.75" x 9.75" will probably fit. Case depth should be under 17" for the desk door to close.

Good value, relatively easy to assemble
Put this together for a 7 year-old. He loves it, three drawers and the PC compartment provide a lot of great storage options for school supplies and the Nerf armory. Assembly with me plus the kid "helper" took ~90 minutes with a power screw driver. It's not going to last forever, but it will get him through school which is the objective. The leg area is a touch narrow, so maybe not best for larger kids or adults.

The desk meets my needs beautifully. Keeps me organized and stuff doesn't get lost in "piles". The assembly was a little time consuming, but not really difficult to put together -- it is good and solid. I watched this desk on amazon for several weeks and missed a couple of opportunities to buy it at a lower price, but (financially) I wasn't prepared to go forth with the purchase at the lower price times. Nonetheless, it was a good buy for us. I only gave it 4 stars because of the color of the desk -- truly wish more color options were available for it. I would have preferred a lighter, more "oaky" color than the chocolate. The other option of ebony would not have worked at all. I am very pleased with the desk, and I would recommend it.

Computer workstation review
Desk was as described, arrived much faster than expected (which was a plus) has the storage space I need. I drawers roll out super easy, no pulling or tugging, etc...The color is perfect. The only thing I didn't take into account was the space for a computer chair to be able to be pushed inside the leg area when not in use. It's rather narrow...so the new computer chair has to just kind of sit in front of it and we have to walk past it. But like I said that is no way the fault of the product or manufacturer! I should have done a bit more research before I rushed out and bought the chair. We love it, the family all uses it. Plenty of room to hang folders and labels them. Lots of additional space on top of the desk since the tower can go down inside drawer on the left hand side. Which is exactly what I wanted! It just took up way too much space on top of my old desk, so this was a great option!! Freeing up plenty of extra space on top of the desk.
