Great portable/packable pillow
This pillow is great! I recommend it. It sure beats wadding up a jacket and clothes in a stuff sack. Very comfortable. Self-inflates quickly and fully--if anything I have to force some air back out of it. :-) Great product. Rolls up and fits in a small stuff sack. I use this when touring on my Honda ST1300 motorcycle.
Update: I really like this pillow and it just seems to get more comfy with use.

Pack-away size isn't ideal for backpacking...
I loved that I could just open the valve, throw it in my tent, and go make dinner while the pillow filled up with air. It's self-inflating so that ability means you don't have to sit there and blow up the pillow you're going to sleep on (like a balloon). Yet, in comparing that difference, it also brings up a difference in pack-away size. Since this pillow is self-inflating, it is very hard to get every last bit of air out, so you are stuck attempting to push the air out and roll up the pillow at the same time (leaving the rolled up size to still be rather large for backpacking). The pack-away size wouldn't be a problem for travel or car camping, but if you're deciding to get a pillow for backpacking then you need to take that into consideration. The pack-away weight was also slightly heavier than, say, a pillow that you blow up on your own.
My tent-mate's pillow was one you blow up and although she was stuck setting up her stuff longer because she had to do that, her pillow also had the ability to release all of the air and fold up very small.

It's well built and feels great .. In many positions.... Lol
Oh, I love this Pillow ... It saved my A$$, as I travel cross country ... I'd use it as a pillow and it was... Eh, not bad at all
But as a butt pillow on your driving seat.... OMG it's amazing !!!!!
Leave the cap on your pillow unlocked
and when you get out,res area , get fuel etc etc .... The pillow will refill itself ..... Then as you get back in, it goes back to where it sits with your weight, I'm lite and boney !
I'm not saying this is what the pillow was designed for ... I'm Just sharing my story and how it 100% saved my butt for many, many miles!

Custom fitted back support
Perfect for international flights when you want custom-fitted support for long flights. You make the pillow custom-fitted to your back by inflating fully, leave the air release valve open so air can escape from the pillow, sit comfortably in your seat then lean forward and slide this pillow horizontally in the small of your back area--just above where the back of your rear touches the back of the seat. Next lean back comfortably in your seat so that air leaves the pillow as as it custom conforms to your back. When the pillow is just right for you, reach to your side and close the air valve while the pillow is still behind your back. It is difficult, but possible, to get the pillow back into the carry bag. I open the valve and sit on mine..then start rolling from the end furtherest from the valve so air can continue to escape as the pillow is tightly rolled. It is much easier to get the pillow back into the bag with two people----but one person can do it if they are determined enough. This pillow would also work well for someone who has to recover from surgery and needs custom fitted supported for either the back or the neck--or for someone who is in a wheelchair for relatively long periods of time. I successfully washed my pillow in the kitchen sink with plenty of water and laundry detergent. I fully inflated the pillow and then closed off the valve before cleaning it. After cleaning I wrapped it in an absorbent towel to get a lot of the water off and then I let it air dry. The manufacturer does not endorse my cleaning method--but it worked well for me.

My new favorite camp pillow
When I received this pillow from UPS I immediately opened it up, inflated it, and tried it out on my bed at home. I was impressed at the comfort this pillow provides. Being able to tailor the amount of air inside of it to the level of firmness/softness you desire makes it enjoyable no matter where you use it. I have used it on 3 Boy Scout camp outs now (I'm an Assistant Scoutmaster) and will never camp without it again. It self inflates to a certain degree, then you simply add as much or as little air as you desire. The orange side has a soft texture almost like a pillow case, and the grey side has somewhat of a non-slip texture to help keep it from moving around while you sleep. Now I just have to buy 2 more, 1 for each of my sons.

Awesome Self Inflating Pillow for Lumbar Support, TOO
I love this self inflating pillow. I do not use it for camping! I use it as a big lumbar back cushion. I have a terrible back and sitting is the worst for my degenerative discs, etc.. I place the fully inflated pillow behind my back (in my chair). I lay back against the pillow and let some of the air out, until I feel the pillow support my lumbar. Also, great for traveling. I just got back from a 6 hour flight. I used the pillow in the same way described above and it really helped my discomfort! The product is very well made, as well! I am planing on ordering another one, so I can keep in my car permanently.

Excellent portable pillow
I haven't yet taken this pillow into the elements but it has performed wonderfully on my living room floor (paired with a ComfortLite sleeping pad). The ability to adjust the firmness makes all the difference in the world with a portable pillow. I returned another highly rated backpacking pillow for this product and am very happy I did. I will update this review after my upcoming backpacking trip this weekend after I evaluate its ability to keep the firmness I set it to.
Just returned from a 2-night backpacking trip on a 30 mile loop trail. The TETON Sports pillow performed wonderfully and I was very happy to have this piece of equipment after a long day of hiking. My hiking buddy had an inflatable pillow from a different brand which had a slick outer layer that kept sliding around his sleeping bag. Needless to say I had a very enjoyable sleep where he complained in the morning of having a hard time with his pillow. The ability to quickly deflate or inflate as needed was perfect. Very happy with my purchase!

Finally got the opportunity to use this pillow. I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable it was. Make sure that you don't inflate it completely, that way your head is cradled nicely. There was neither any slippage nor crinkley noise during the night. Really liked it.

Finally, a self-inflating travel or camping pillow that is actually really comfortable.
My oldest daughter is going away to summer camp this summer and while there they take a couple of camping trips. While we have taken family camping trips before, we have gone by car where it is easy to pack in a bunch of gear (including regular pillows). She will be hiking out to their campsite, however, and therefore needs to be mindful of weight and size of her gear. I have not very fond memories of camping as a kid using a rolled up towel or my sweatshirt as a pillow and consequently not getting a very good night sleep. In an effort to spare her the same fate, I thought that a self-inflating pillow would solve the problem of a comfortable pillow but also something compact to fit in her pack.
On the plus side, this pillow is very comfortable. It is not made of a shiny or slippery material so your head does not roll off and it does not make a funny crinkly sound when you use it. Also, there is a foam of some sort in the the pillow that adds to the comfort. You can also fully fill the pillow if you like a very full pillow (though I found it to be a bit too full this way, leading to your head rolling off a bit too easily) or you can lit a bit of air out so there is more "give" in the pillow. I found this to be best so that it conforms a bit to your head. I also liked the mechanism for opening and closing the nozzle. You have to push in/pull out a bit so that makes it less likely for it to accidentally open on you.
On the con side, I found that the "self-inflating" was pretty slow. I didn't feel that it was actually going to inflate on its own. However, a few short breaths it is filled so this is not really much of a con.
Also, because of the filling in the pillow (which is a plus because it is more comfortable that way), the pillow cannot fold down as small as I would like. So, it is a bit bulkier than some of the other camping pillow options. I think it will still serve my daughter's purposes fine but I wanted to point it out in case someone was looking for an extremely compact pillow.
We have all had fun playing with it (and now my boys want their own) and my daughter can't wait to take it with her on her camping trip this summer.

A great nights sleep or easy to pack up?
We purchased two different styles of camping pillows for our family of four. This one is more comfortable and wider in size than the Trekology brand but also more expensive. Everyone in our family of four prefers this one, however it is almost impossible to get it back in the sack, which sometimes makes it the less preferable option. Perhaps there are instructions that would tell us the secret to getting it in the bag easily that I didn't get. We also purchased a Teton sleeping bag and the pillow fits beautifully inside the hood.
