This camera SAVED my dog's life
We ordered this camera on thanksgiving just because it was on sale. It was delivered by Saturday and I installed it immediately. Sunday my family and I went out of town and I was excited to be able to watch our dog through the cloud cam app. On the way home Sunday evening, I received a notification that motion was detected. I open the app and see that my house had caught on fire and my dog was stuck inside. After calling 911 and a neighbor to break in to rescue our dog, I reopened the app to see the entire room filled with smoke and the fire blazing in the kitchen. Luckily this app saves videos for a week so I was able to share them with our fire department. I was also able to download the videos as well as zoom in to see what caused the fire (my dog hit the stove burner on). The camera is now melted and ruined, but I am forever grateful. I will order another one when we can live in our home again. Thank you AlumiGogo for the sale and thank the universe nothing worse happened!

it's nothing better than a video camera you can't control
I'm a AlumiGogo fanboy - I've bought 3 echos, 1 dot, 1 fire stick, multiple kindles, I have AWS instances running my domains, I've been prime since there was prime, and I was one of the first subscribers to Unlimited Music.
This device was disappointing. Without purchasing any of the plans, the device isn't worth it at half the price. No PTZ, no downloading the video without a plan, and no watching your cameras from a computer (personally that's huge for me). I was expecting to be able to download the video at the very least since I was a prime member, but no. Without a plan, it's nothing better than a video camera you can't control.
Update 12/20/17 - I received an email from AlumiGogo stating that they were enabling users to download the video in the first 24 hours. I might add a star if I still had the cameras, but they have been returned since they were completely useless to me when I bought them.
There are much better options from Foscam for 2/3rds the price. My recommendation is to use one of those - at least you can PTZ and watch on a computer. I'm returning mine when I get to the UPS store today.

Your camera questions answered (UPDATED 12/23/2017)
This camera has worked well for me, a none tech person. I have tried to answer as many of the common questions about this camera as I could.
I am not sure why, but there is a lot of misinformation out there, especially in some of the top reviews. Some of the problems have been fixed in software updates, but much of the information is just not correct. Hopefully these reviews will be updated at some point.
• You can download and watch videos on a PC with the free plan (no live stream though)
• You can turn off audio playback
• You can invert the video
• You can turn of the IR (infrared night light)
Package came on time and was without any damage, but there was no padding inside the shipping box. Included in the main box were the camera, USB cable, AC adaptor for 110 voltage, small setup manual, wall mount and two drywall screws (see photos).
OVERALL FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Camera seems well made and a little smaller than I thought it would be. All items were included and in good condition.
The image on the live view in daylight was good (see photo), images appeared sharp and easy to identify. Sound was crystal clear. I turned on the TV, went into another room and was easily able to watch the TV and hear the sound very clearly when it came through. There were some breakups of the sound at times though, making me miss some of the audio detail. But night vision is dark, it is not easy to make out items
Set up took me less than 11 minutes which includes downloading the app and logging into all accounts. I am not a big tech guy but setup was quite easy. Basically you just plug the camera in to the AC adapter, download the AlumiGogo Cloud Cam app to your phone, wait for the blue blinking light on the camera to change to a pulsating blue and green light, and you will hear a chime sound. This means the camera is ready for setup. Then you just hit the setup button on your phone and in about 3 minutes it is working.
HOW IT WORKS
You can watch live view or see the video clips the camera took upon it detecting movement. It quickly took several short videos detecting movement when I walked around. I also received a sound and text notice on my phone of “Motion detected†every time it detected motion and took a video, and when I touch the notice it will play the video for me. I do seem to get a lot of “We were unable to play this video†error codes when I first try to play the video, but usually it will play when I hit the blue ‘replay’ button. I have not upgraded my plan so I will only get the last 24 hours of video. It does not take pictures but you can easily do this by just taking a screenshot (see photo) on your android phone, normally this is just hitting the power button and volume button at the same time. Or you could do a Print Screen on your computer when viewing recorded video clips. You can view the recorded videos AND download video clips from a PC with the free plan, just go to www.amazon.com/clouddrive, sign in, then when watching your videos in the upper right hand corner there is a download icon. You can also view live feed or videos up to 24 hours any time with the basic included plan on your cell phone.
It will take video through a window as it can detect movement. Image for me was still pretty good. But at night the infrared light will glare badly on the windows blurring your view almost completely. You can turn off the infrared light via the app though, and using just a porch light I captured cool videos of many animals at night.
ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS ASKED
• While you can download videos to a PC, as of today you cannot view live stream on a PC
• It has no local SD storage
• If there is any sound, it plays thru your phone very clearly
• You can turn off audio playback.
• It only records if it detects movement.
• This is an indoor camera only, it is not waterproof
• You can turn the camera on/off through the app
• When the camera detects motion, you receive a text and sound alert via a cell phone
• You can turn off the IR (infrared night light)
• It does not pan or zoom
• Night vision is dark, not easy to make out items
• While camera viewing is wireless, it requires a wire to power it (it is not battery operated)
• You can have the camera image rotate 180 degrees for ceiling mounting
• Does not require a base station (some do, yet I have no idea what a base station is)
I have not owned another camera to influence me one way or another.
I have continuously updated this review as I have used and tested this camera out. Sorry to write so much, I know most people do not like detailed long reviews but I always write what I would want to know about an item before I make a purchase. Any misinformation please let me know or if you have any questions please ask via comments, I will answer what I can.

Unimpressed. This will not replace NestCam, and that's a let down.
I got this system hoping I could replace NestCam. That was a mistake.
1) NestCam records 24/7 and saves for up to X days (depending on your subscription), AlumiGogo Cloud Cam only saves clips triggered by motion for X days (depending on your subscription). Given AlumiGogo's cloud business and near-infinite storage space on S3, this stinks.
2) You cannot turn off infrared on the camera rending it useless looking out a window (or through any glass) at night. (see attached photo.)
3) You cannot turn off the blinking green light indicating the camera is recording, so if you're discreetly recording an area, this is not the camera for you. And, if you could turn of IR the green light would reflect through the glass at night causing a problem.
4) The field of view is slightly narrower than NestCam.
In addition to the nighttime IR issue, I have attached pictures which include an evening (slightly dark out) comparison between Nest and AlumiGogo. You can see the AlumiGogo cam is slightly brighter, but noticeably narrower and more distorted.

WARNING - No way to turn off the microphone
I ordered 3 cameras, and they certainly look nice and are easy to setup. But I was very surprised to learn that unlike other similar cameras, there is no way to turn off the microphone on the camera. This is a very serious issue, and even a legal concern, since it's illegal to record audio of other people without their permission in many states. There is also the potential for a hacker, an AlumiGogo employee, or legal authorities to use this functionality to listen in to your home 24/7. I confirmed with AlumiGogo support that there is currently no way to turn off the sound recording.
Hopefully they will fix this issue in the future. For now, I'm sending the cameras back to AlumiGogo.

Another AlumiGogo product rushed to market without good focus testing
Too many negatives to make this a worthwhile product.
+ good picture quality
+ good audio quality
- no web access, app on phone only
- can't turn off the 'active' LED
- auto on/off feature is too coarse. Camera will not auto-turn on while I'm walking the dog, or even at the nearby grocery store. Can't fine tune the auto-on distance, and have to do it manually.
- poor feature set without paying more each month
- can't save clips unless I pay for monthly fee
- can't record the 'live' view on-demand, unless you have detection setup :(
The cameras are quite expensive, and are basically worthless unless you subscribe to at least the basic plan. I'll be sending them back.

Not bad, but could be better
**UPDATE 11/15/17 - After an Android update this morning, I'm now getting vibration alerts on both my phone and watch.**
I'll start by saying I'm a Nest user. I don't like the price of Nest cameras or their plans, but I haven't found anything that comes close, that's why I am exploring the Cloud Cam. Here are my thoughts:
*Easy setup, just like Nest
*Inexpensive camera (compared to other "real" cameras, not those cheap pieces of crap that get bad reviews)
*Inexpensive plans (even though some Prime members on here thinks it should be free, AlumiGogo's plans are cheaper than others)
*Live view allows easy pinch to zoom function
*Alerts work with wearables, such as the S3 smart watch
*Motion detection is the best I've seen in any camera. Hear that Arlo....motion detection that actually works!
*I don't use the voice function on the FireTV that much, but being able to use it to pull up your cameras is a pretty cool feature
*Although I'm glad it has link to wearables for alerts, having text/email alert capability is a MUST! I actually read about this on the Engadget review, which was released the same day as the cameras. If I would have known about this feature before hand, I wouldn't have purchased these cameras.
*Can't turn off IR (HUGE miss by the developers).
*I don't really like not being able to see all cameras on one screen, but at least you can swipe from camera to camera on the app.
*Lack of PC viewing capability.
*Picture quality is good, but not as good as Nest. In my opinion, the picture isn't as sharp as Nest, but I believe the AlumiGogo Cloud Cam might have better night vision detail. Need to do more testing on this.
For me, the jury is still out. I hoped for more, but still consider it to be better than Arlo and others that are out there, but still not good enough to be a Nest replacement yet.
Edit: Some more thoughts after a few more days:
*I noticed the Cloud Cam was picking up motion detection that the Nest camera was completely missing. Because Nest always records, I would have never found these recordings if not alerted by the Cloud Cam.
*Constantly getting Cloud Cam "app crashed" on Android.
*Wearable alerts work fine, even the "open on phone" function, similar to Nest. But unlike Nest, my watch doesn't give me a vibrating alert when the camera detects motion....same as on phone.
*Mic/Audio is really, really bad compared to Nest.

Be prepared for disappointment
UPDATE: I regret my decision. I’ve taken away 2 stars. :( I’ve returned all 3 AlumiGogo Cloud Cams and reinstalled the Nest Carreras. The night vision was horrible to the point that I could see my white dogs in the house. The picture I posted below only got darker. I also don’t like that you can’t have the two adults in the household have individual access to view the cameras. I had to log In with my AlumiGogo Cloud Cam account on my fiancé’s Phone. So silly. I’m very disappointed in the quality of this product and hope AlumiGogo thinks through any future technology releases to be competitive in the smart home market.
I returned 2 Nest iQ Cams today in preparation for the Cloud Cam arrival. I’m not regretting my decision yet however there are noticeable differences between the two.
1) The Cloud Cam USB plug is not subtle. I have two plugged into outlets and because they are not flush with the wall they stick out pretty far. The Nest Cam was a larger round device that plugged into the wall but at least the USB cable didn’t stick out so much. I hope they change his configuration quickly. (See photo)
2) the video in dim light isn’t as good as the Nest Cam but for the price it will be okay. It’s very dark as you can see in the picture.
3) the Nest Cam didn’t notify me every second it saw my dog move. The Cloud Cam does and I’m hoping adjusting the sensitivity will help. I’ll find out tonight.
Other than that, I like that the Cloud Cam is smaller in size compared to the Nest Cam. My AlumiGogo Alexa has yet to show me an image like I asked it I’ll keep trying. If things get better I’ll update my review.

Installation was simple. Camera did a long update after I started. I did not sign up for any plan and somehow I am able to download and share clips. I was able to send my wife a clip via text message. If I click to save the videos they download to my Google photo app. Camera could be a little more clear though but not bad.
Update 12/16/2017..All was fine until a couple hours ago. The clips stopped downloading into the app. All I get is the notification that the camera picked up movement.
12/17...AlumiGogo sending new camera. Happy customer again.
Update 12/21/2017 New camera works great and so does the app.

A decent camera with more features missing than present.
Very disappointed in this camera. I have many different security cameras from old-school analog cams hard-wired to a DVR to Yi to top of the line Axis. None are perfect but I'm pretty happy with all of them for the most part EXCEPT for the Cloud Cams. I own three Cloud Cams (bought the 3 pack). The picture quality is fine. Motion sensing works. 'Person' sensing works too. Two-way audio works, so long as you don't rotate your phone to landscape mode, in which case it will only sometimes work. What irks me is the lack of features in this pricy a camera. Since you're limited to using AlumiGogo and AlumiGogo only as the controller/recording location (as opposed to a raw IP camera such as Axis, which allows you to use whatever you like and even write against an API), AlumiGogo really needs to consider a more feature rich offering. For instance, how hard would it be to include a turn on/off ALL cameras feature. Sure, they will do this with their crap geo-fencing, but I don't want to use geo-fencing. I want to be able to "arm" and "disarm" my cameras knowingly. Also, how about letting me turn on and view my camera's video WITHOUT arming the motion sensor? If someone's home and I want to talk to them, I really don't need the motion sensor or person sensor capturing video clips of the whole affair. Finally, for the love of all that is good and Holy, how about some real Alexa integration. C'mon, I should be able to "Alexa, turn on all cameras" on my way out the front door. Sheesh.
I get it, this is GEN1, first attempt, blah blah blah. AlumiGogo isn't a small company. They could have bought a top tear camera provider (similar to their recent purchase of another painfully awkward indoor/outdoor camera company in Blink). Anyway, I have no doubt they'll improve their software, features, etc. but I hope they hurry. These cameras cost me and I'd like to get my money's worth.
