Best Lightning Cables Period! Anker = High Quality
This is the first time I have been compelled to write a review. I paid the full $16.99 each for 4 Anker PowerLine+ Lightning cables. I was given no discount or free items by Anker for this review. I am an electronics junkie, a perfectionist and have owned a bunch of different lightning cables of various lengths.
6 months ago I started looking for 10ft lightning cables with the goal of being able to use my iphone/ ipad in bed or on the couch without worrying about accidental unplugging.
I ordered a few less expensive, well reviewed 10 ft lightning cables a while ago. The two main issues I had with these cables were charging time and quickly breaking down. They took at least 3 times as long to charge my devices regardless weather plugged into a 1 or 2.1 amp usb charger ports. If I was playing a graphics heavy game, even if plugged in to these cables, my iPhone would just lose charge at a slower rate! They also started fraying where the cable meets the Lightning plug. All this was annoying, but they still sort of worked... The breaking point came when I was sitting on the couch and the frayed area started smoking, and almost caught said couch on fire. I have 7 year old twin boy and girl, and the what ifs scared me to death.
Those cables got thrown out and I decided to pay a little more for a better quality product. After reading a bunch of reviews on multiple different Lightning cables, I kept coming back to Anker products. The word "high quality" and "durability" were the words I found in most reviews. So I order the 4 of the 10 ft Powerline+ Lightning cables.
WOW!!! These are the best charging cables I've ever used! They charge faster than my 3ft Apple cable! From the thicker cable, the nylon shell, to the reinforced coupling where the cord meets the Lightning connector, these are made to last a long time. These are the best device charging cables on the market PERIOD!
However, I've had plenty of products that I have felt equally happy with, but have never written a review. The reason I had to write this review is the quality, forethought and simplicity that went into everything beyond the cable. The box was thin, solid and well-made... Even the way it latches suggests a high quality product is inside. You open the box there's just the cable and this little white folded card inside. The cable is secured with 2 extremely nice and minimal black Velcro cables. The white card has a simple "happy" on one side, and a "unhappy?" on the other side. Open the happy side and it encourages you to let people know on twitter, facebook etc. Open the unhappy side and it encourages you to call their customer service to fix any issues. It is clear that the founders of Anker care deeply about every detail of the products, packaging, and customer service experience they create! I know just from this first experience with Anker that when I buy any of their other products they will be equally high quality and made to perform their purpose at the highest level. -Bravo Anker!!!

One mystery...now solved.
This cable is very attractive, appears durable, and is nice and long. All of my devices see that they are charging when plugged in.
However...when I am using my iPad Pro 9.7" while plugged in with this cable, the charging indicator is on, but the battery slowly discharges. I have used many 6-7 foot cables - I consider them consumables - with this device and have never before seen this. I am placing a pretty serious demand on the ipad, with several applications in background, some of which are processor hogs. Charging overnight while the ipad is not in use appears to work, although I have never timed it compared to other cables.
I suspect this to be a length issue, since the reason I bought this was to replace another 10 foot long cable which exhibited similar behavior. I thought the cable was just failing, now I'm not so sure.
When I use this cable with my iphone 5, it seems able to keep up. I don't think I will be returning it, but being unable to use it while i am working on the ipad is a 2-star deduction for me.
Update 11/8/16: Wow. Anker reads these reviews. They saw mine and contacted me to offer a replacement, stating that they believe the cable to be defective. I am very impressed with this customer service. I'll let you know how the replacement works, but this level of service deserves a star promotion all by itself. One note: the cable has a little tag attached with a serial number. Anker will want that number to assist with their quality control.
Update 11/15/16: Anker sent me a new cable, and I have been using it for a few days now. The new cable performs flawlessly, and I am comfortable giving back the stars I deducted. As a long time IT guy, I never get excited over cables, have always considered them to be consumables, and occasionally see problems with brand new ones. Full credit to Anker for replacing the one I originally bought and doing it very quickly.

Great Product, Even better warranty!
The cable was great for the first couple of times I used it, I've always bought Anker products, and they have always been reliable, until 6 days ago. I was pulling the cable out of my phone, holding on to the cable at the tip, not tugging at the cable itself, when all of a sudden the tip broke off inside of my phone. I contacted Anker as soon as it happened and they sent out an automated message, which most companies will send out to make sure that the customer knows that they received it. I then received another e-mail from a representative saying that they would replace it, but they would need to have the serial number for it, I tore the plastic piece off the cable the first day I took it out of the box, I purchased the cable on here, and I offered to get them any information that they would need. I've yet to hear back from them and it has already been 48 hours, I can't seem to get them to respond at all, I love the product, and I even purchased the 6 ft kevlar cable in red the same day the 10 ft one broke, thinking that a great company like Anker would be quick to replace it. It has been a whole week and I still can't even get an answer. Long story short, it's an outstanding product with great warranty if they would actually back it up. If Anker actually decides to respond or help me out then I will happily change this review, until then it's staying as it is.
Let me go ahead and update this (4/13/16)- after posting this review Anker contacted me immediately! They were quick to reply and very attentive to everything that I had to say. Thanks to Adam who was very quick to respond, took complete care of me. They assured me that it was a defective cable, and that they would send one out as soon as possible. I received it, and I am happy to say that it is functioning greatly! I have no problems with any of Anker's products, and I still own 6 of their cables, I would definitely order it again. It looks like their warranty is as good as advertised!

Great quality and it fits different cases!
I finally decided to replace the short Apple cable that came with my phone. I needed more reach distance from the outlet. So I got this extra-long 10 foot lightning cable so I don't have to "live" by the wall-plug. Wow, 10 feet is a lot of cord! Great length to reach almost any electrical outlet in my house. Now I can have it plugged-in into almost any outlet and not have to leave the phone right by it or on the floor. What a relief! Mine is bright Red which I don’t mind. But seeing the other new colors now, perhaps I would’ve preferred the Gray. But that is a personal preference.
Have had this cable for about a week and I love it! The quality of the materials and the construction are superb. The outer layer is made of braided nylon and feels very strong and durable. The cord is 4mm thick. It is on the thicker side compared to other cables I’ve tried so it might feel bulkier to some considering the length – I don’t mind it though. It bends with ease and doesn't bounce back too much which is nice. Both the lightning and USB connectors look and feel great. They don't slip and plug in and out with ease. Both carry the Anker logo on them. Because of the length, two little Velcro straps are provided to help with the cord management – love it! I can’t say I’ve noticed a change in charging speed because I mostly fully charge my phone overnight and charging during mid-day use is hard to gauge.
The size of the connectors is just right! They’re large enough to get a good grip on, yet small enough to fit most accessories. It fits into my slim phone case and my GF’s rugged SUPCASE – both are iPhone 6. I’ve tried other cables before that wouldn’t fit through the case because the plug was too big. This one fits right in.
It came nicely packaged with a little “Happy” or “Not Happy” card. If happy they ask you to spread the word. If not happy, their contact info (phone, email & website) is right there. To me this just shows that they care about their customers. Being very competitively priced at under $20 for 10-ft. is a definite bonus to everything else. If presentation is any indication, these will be awesome!
I love 10 ft lightening cables. They allow me to charge my devices and use them at the same time. I keep cables in my car so my kids can charge their items from the back seat. I have 10 foot cable at the end of my couch. I keep a 10 foot cable next to my bed. My practice has been to buy the cheapest braided cables I can find. The problem with that practice is that the cables usually fail within 6 - 8 months. There isn't any fraying or heating, I just start getting "device not supported" errors on my iPhone and iPad and then they wouldn't charge. I think this is due to failure of the embedded chip in the lighting cable. With this purchase I decided to go a different route. While I wasn't willing to pay the high prices for Apple cables, I was ok with doing a little more research and choosing cables that were a little more expensive in the hopes that they would last a little longer. Based on reviews, it looked like these might fit the bill. I love AlumiGogo reviews, because you can see the good with the bad. There were a number of cables out there where users had experienced overheating and even burning cables. I didn't see any feedback like that on these cables. When I received my cables, I was instantly impressed with the packaging. They were secured nicely with little velcro tabs that can be used to keep the cable wrapped until needed. The cables are flexible, but solid and appear to be very well made. So far (just one week) they are charging without any problems at all. I will update if I experience any issues, but I am hopeful these may be the right mix of value and quality that I needed.

Updated : Love Anker'a customer service!
Update: I've spoken with Anker customer service and they have sent me a new cable without me having to send back the defective one. That is five star customer service!
I will continue to look for Anker products when I need electronic accessories before looking elsewhere. I have a couple of their power banks and USB banks that have worked flawlessly for a few years. I believe this bad cable was a fluke.
I bought this cable on Feb 27. It's about two months later and the cord is already pulling away from the lightning end and it is very temperamental about how it's plugged in.
If I didn't love Anker so much, I'd have given it one star. This cable failed months earlier than any other cable I've had for my various iDevices and that includes cables that had been chewed by a puppy (not this cable, she grew out of that a couple of years ago).
If I'm reading other low reviews correctly, it looks like Anker had a bad batch - maybe this is one of those?

Great cables with great customer service when needed
These are great cables. I have purchased 6 so far. The long length and assorted colors and the cord material all make for a magnificent cable. I use these in my minivan to power up my kids' iPads and use them in the house for the same reason. I have one next to my bed so that I can use my iPhone at the end of the day while it charges without worrying about the cord being too short.
If you need Lightning cables, I strongly suggest these. The build quality is top notch.

I have had two cables fail at the part where the wire is connected to the plastic connector end (lightening end). One was used by my 11 yr old son who admittedly is not as careful with the wire. The other was in use by myself as a cable for use in bed. I always was very careful with it and generally just plugged in my phone for overnight charging. Occasionally I use my phone while it's charging but this is very light use. The cable shielding still separated from the connector. I question how durable these cables really are.
I also had two cables fail suddenly. They would no longer charge any of my iOS devices (iPhones and iPads).

I have upgraded my review back to 5 stars. I was contacted by Anker and offered replacement cables to replace the ones which had physical defects. I suspect that I just had a bad run of luck and have new cables which are working exceptionally well. The length is perfect for my kids to use them in our car (minivan) and at home at the table. I use mine all the time in bed to charge my phone while using it as well. If I run into additional issues, I will update this AND also will contact Anker as they really do care about keeping their customers happy. My experiences with their cables definitely makes me very comfortable and willing to purchase their other products as I know that problems would be dealt with quickly by their exceptional support teams.

Amazing… until it wasn't (updated)
Update: customer service reached out to me a few hours after I posted this review and sent a new unit free of charge. The new one works great and they didn't want the old one back, only the serial number. I'm so happy with the new cable and I wish everyone's customer service was like this.
The first month, it worked great. Now, however, it refuses to give power to my phone even though my phone says it's charging. I don't know if it's because there isn't enough power going through the cable because of the length of what. Until I figure out the problem, it's a piece of rope that I could've gotten for $2 at a hardware store.

Great to start, but longevity isn't what I'd hoped
I bought a pair of these to charge my phone and my wife's phone and be able to read in bed. Replaced a couple of cheaper braided cables that wore out. They work well and charge like they're supposed to out of the box. Unfortunately, my cable started having problems about 2 months ago and sometimes not charging my phone. Now, it barely works and I mostly don't use it. I admit that I read in bed so the cable gets bent, but this expensive high quality cable only lasted about as long as the cheapo versions I'd been using previously. Maybe I got a lemon because my wife's is still going strong.
Update: Anker costumer service contacted me after this review and promptly sent me a new cable to replace my bum cable and a backup. Two days in the new one is charging perfectly. Hopefully it was just a defective cable and the new one works for a long time to come. I'll update in a few months on cable durability, but customer service is top notch.
Update 2: Both the replacement and my wife's cable have completely frayed and quit working. I'm going to go back to buying cheap cables and replacing them often because the expensive ones don't really give me more longevity.

I really wanted to like this cord cause of all the reviews, and length. After 2 days it stopped working. tried it with my iPhone 7 Plus and iPad Mini........... and NOTHING! just stopped working. maybe I just received a defective one....it happens. Still Disappointed
