amazing sound system
I picked up one of these units in a bundle from a local warehouse club and I am blown away by the clarity and the quality of the sound that this system produces. The speakers are small and low profile but really pack a punch, and the speaker cable that comes with them is very high quality and heavy gauge, not the thin flimsy stuff you get from you home theater in a box brands. Setup is pretty straight forward although I will admit this is my first time working with a high end sound system that requires its own independent receiver. I bought this unit package with a Yamaha receiver which also came with the Bose Bluetooth adapter. It probably took me an hour or so to get everything set up all the wires run and make all the connections properly. And then took me about an hour to figure out how to use the receiver, I am NOT an AV expert admittedly, but I did figure it out and it is really quite an impressive system. The quality of the Bose system is second to none, at least at this price point. You can always spend more for higher end components but its starts getting to the point that there are diminishing returns financially. This is a great system for a larger area, or a small one it's very good and the setup is not very difficult.

Haven't hooked it up yet. I need wiring that is longer then 20'....not very easy to do because your committed to BOSE wiring harness. Its not your typical home theater wire up....right now I only give it 3 stars because of where I'm at with this right now....now that I had to rethink how I was going to hook up my system. I usually like to run my wires down thru the floor and pop up where they are needed. But with only one size wiring harness to work with I had to run my wires under our area rug. Now that that's done I am enjoying my system.

Great Product and Easy Set Up
First of all it is Bose so you are getting a great product with excellent sound quality. I am usually pretty picky about the quality of the sound but I purchased this for the man cave garage and I couldn't be happier. I didn't buy a receiver that specifically went with a Bose so the sub isn't hooked up completely correct but it still works great. So I am here to say that even if you don't buy a 5.1 surround sound receiver it can still work and put out great sound. I will definitely be buying a correct receiver but for the time being it works great and will get me by. The setup is very simple, you literally unbox it and set the speakers where you want them and run your cord to the receiver. There isn't much you can screw up.

on 2016-05-14 Quality for the small space requirement
I am a repeat purchaser of Bose Speakers. The first set lasted 19 years. My space limitations for the subwoofer size required me to consider the smaller subwoofer systems. It is my opinion that if you have more space for a subwoofer, consider other brands. If space is a major consideration this may be the best option. The service I have received from Bose is excellent. This is an excellent subwoofer for the price.Polk Audio PSW10 10-Inch Powered Subwoofer (Single, Black)
If you have a little more funding, this is an excellent productKlipsch R12SW 12" 400W Powered Subwoofer (Black)
My focus on my system is music. I am less interested in surround sound for movie sound effects.
For music, I suggest getting the best pair of speakers you can afford with a comparable receiver or amp with a subwoofer. The Klipsch line has some great quality for the price. I am using a pair of these floor speakers with a Sony receiver. a Good source of information is audioholics on the web and you tube.

I purchased my speakers from Sam's Club. I should have shopped around first because I might have been able to find a better price. They came packaged with a low end Onkyo receiver. I would have never considered such small speakers but my wife wanted the smallest ones I could find. After a year or so the receiver died. I did not replace it right away and lived with TV sound for a while. But eventually I found a high end Yamaha receiver on special and bought it. I had always heard that Yamaha made very good receivers. I could not believe how much better the overall quality and especially the surround sound was with the new receiver. For their size these speakers deliver very good surround sound. Not as much for stereo music but I didn't have the option of larger speakers.
If you are not watching and listening to TV and movies in surround sound you are really missing out. It envelopes you. It's like the difference between mono and stereo.

Great improvement from my previous speakers
Great speakers and huge improvement in sound compared to Energy 5.1 Take Classic.
4 stars only since it does not have the standard hole for wall mount and would force you to use the expensive Bose UB-20 brackets.
But I tried the less expensive Vonhaus wall mount 4 pack brackets (there is even a 5 pack which I missed) coupled with
3M extreme dual lock fasteners. Each satellite speaker only weighs less 2 lbs and Vonhaus mount is rated at 7 lbs.
3M dual lock is rated at 10 lbs and the adhesive is very strong.
So far after a week the mounted speakers are all still holding up and there is no loss of adhesion.
Will update review in a few months on how it is still holding up.
But I think it would hold up since I used already these dual lock fasteners when I wall mounted some picture paintings (around 2-3 lbs each) 4 years ago and it is still holding up till now.
