This jacket is simply perfect! I live in Seattle and have been searching for a "girly" rain jacket for quit some time. This was exactly what I was looking for. The material is soft, flexible and very comfortable. The color is exactly as pictured! I wear a size 13/14 pant and L/XL t-shirts & sweaters. I was worried about the fit but to my surprise the XL fits perfect and I can comfortably wear a sweater underneath. So grateful to this company for making a wonderful product of good material and fashionable at the same time!

There are so many great reviews here that helped me decide on my purchase, so I only have a little bit of info to add. I ordered the Aqua and the Mint, as I could not tell from the images here or searched online which one I would prefer. I'm attaching 3 pictures that I hope will help future buyers who may have the same dilemma! They're both very pretty and bright! For the record, I really liked the mint in person but it didn't go well with my rain boots and it is a much darker hue than I hoped, and I LOVED the aqua, so my decision was easy. For size reference, I am 5'3, about 140lbs and I'm wearing the size Small here with a relatively thin sweater underneath. It's comfortable and I can cross my arms across my chest pretty well considering the fabric has little give, if any. I would only size up had I planned to wear a heavy fleece under this jacket, but I do not, and sizing up may cause me to lose some of the flattering shape.
I love this jacket (finally, a hood with drawstrings on a rain jacket!) and my only complaint is the zipper, which sticks and seems very cheap/plasticky. It's not enough to make me return it, not by far. I've been looking for a great rain jacket for probably 4 years, and this is the best I have found!
Update: 10/22/16: I've had this jacket now for a year and I'm changing my review from 4 to 5 stars. The questionable zipper has held up perfectly and the jacket itself is perfect; warm, breathable, not too heavy, and durable. I managed to snag it on a sharp piece of metal and put a tiny hole in it, so I put a very thin layer of clear nail polish over it and it's held just fine, not even noticeable. I plan to buy another, one to keep in my car, and I will probably get the purple or a slightly darker color this time because I'm a bit abusive towards my coats and there are a couple of small dirt marks on this one now. I wholeheartedly recommend this jacket!

wish i could give TEN stars!
This is so darned cute - much more so than I expected when I ordered it. Also the fit is perfect - I was not sure about that, either. I am 5'6" and 150 (or so) lbs and almost ordered a large, but got medium - it fits great. The SLEEVES ARE LONG ENOUGH, and they have velcro tabs to snug them at the wrist. The construction seems really good, and the reflective stripe is really reflective. Now i can walk the dog in the rain at night and not worry about not being seen.

Excellent quality, perfect for camping/hiking, looks good
I have tested this raincoat in two hiking trips in the last 4 months, and it has worked beautifully. It protects me from the wind (especially if I tighten the sleeves, zip up all the way, and put the hood on), and it stops the rain. I tested it in the rainy conditions while hiking in Peru (at the end of the wet season/ beginning of the dry season), and I can report back that it perfectly protects the clothes from getting wet, and keeps the warmth very well. Additionally, the pockets are very convenient, as they are big and they zip up all the way, so you can put anything you want to have on quick access there (like your phone) without being worried about losing it (or about it getting wet in the rain). Finally, it is also easy to clean: just wipe it with a wet cloth.
So my conclusion: it is highly functional in the camping environment, very well made, and cute. Excellent quality and a great look. I am very glad I bought it, and I would highly recommend it.

Hated it at first, but now I would own nothing else
I originally actually HATED this jacket. I thought it was so god ugly when I put it on for the first time and the noise it made when I walked due to the waterproof material was a major turn off. But I needed a newer lightweight jacket for spring. For the winter I wear a knee length down parka from Columbia but my only other jacket for the spring was a lightweight fleece jacket also from Columbia. I'm a student at Michigan State and I had classes at 8 am. So I would leave around 7 am to walk to class and up until April it was freezing in the morning but hot by the end of the day and my down parka would not suffice in that weather. This jacket is perfect for both fall and spring in Michigan. And I'm in love with the Navy now and the silver accents. This jacket really grew on me. It's long enough and loose enough to still wear a hoodie underneath, something I can't do with any other jacket. The waterproof works amazing as well and the detail in the flyaway areas for breathability is great too. My only negative comment about this jacket is that I wish the pockets were a little bigger. It fits my iPhone 6 very tightly. It's hard to also have my hand in the pocket at the same time as my phone. Another negative about this jacket is the hood. But with all jackets it's hard to get a good hood for some reason. Forget about using the hood if you have your hair in a pony tail or up. The elastic that pulls the hood tighter is also weird to me, I can pull it tight but the strings go right back to normal. I haven't figure out how to fix that yet. But it doesn't really bother me, I still love this jacket.

Super Cute, Comfy & Functional
I ordered this for an upcoming trip to Colorado, where quick afternoon rain showers blow over the mountains pretty regularly. I already had a very thin rain/wind shell, but it's not breathable and sticks to my skin if I'm wearing a short-sleeved shirt. My other rain jacket is a little longer and slightly thicker on the inside -- a little more formal looking than this one.
This was a perfect 'middle-of-the-road' jacket that was still a little longer, but not too long. It has a casual style, but it is still super cute. I have the yellow color and it compliments my fair skin and blonde hair very well. The fabric on the outside has a mildly rubber texture just like a rain slicker would. It doesn't both me. I also think the reflective strip on the back is a handy accessory. I found it was true to size and I had no issues with the sizing. Order this jacket - you won't be disappointed!

This is a good lightweight rain jacket but fit me a bit snugly especially in the shoulders. It could still zip up but there is very little extra room in there for a sweater or sweatshirt.
That said, it still fits fine and as long as I'm wearing it in the spring or fall rainy season when it is semi-warm, I don't have any problems. I love the color which was exactly as shown online. The hood actually fits well and isn't too large or too short.

I Love This Raincoat!!!
I love this raincoat!! It fits really well and has many high-quality details! I take really good care of it because it is so pretty (it's my favorite raincoat). I had looked for a cute raincoat that was waterproof (not water-resistant) for several years. I finally found one! I am very happy! I ordered another one and now have the bright pink and the light pink. Both are really cute and fit my different moods. I love them -- they lift my spirits!

Great material, safety reflector, and sizing spot on.
When it comes to rain/snow gear, I like to pick the brighter colors to be more visible for safety, and having the reflective stripe is a bonus on this jacket. Being from Colorado, I have plenty of snow jackets, but they are not waterproof for the regular rain season and too hot as well. I needed something light and fully waterproof. I do wish this jacket came with 2 more things: 1) a drawstring at the waist to make the jacket look more fitted - it has one at the hips to keep it tight there if needed. 2) an extra inch of visor on the hood to help keep rain drips further from the face. Things I really like about this jacket are the zipper pockets to protect any items, the velcro wrists to tighten the sleeve openings, and the material is the best part of this product - a very soft rubbery feel that doesn't make much noise when moving around in it.
Sizing: I'm 5'4" and 110 lbs (30-26-34). I ordered a size small and this jacket works perfectly. It's roomy enough to allow me to put on a sweater underneath if it'll be a cold day and still wear this comfortably. According to the sizing chart, they recommend you measure your hips and select the size according to that to ensure you'll be able to extend it down fully when zipped closed - that's how I selected mine.

Great for New England rain!
After all the snow in the northeast started to melt I figured the rain wasn't going to stop anytime soon, and decided to treat myself! I am 5'5" and 150 lbs and ordered a medium and it fits wonderfully. Enough room for sweaters and sweatshirts and isn't too loose if I'm just in a tshirt. Very lightweight and is pretty good protection against the wind, covers my butt too which is a plus. Visor/hood could be a bit larger but tightening the toggles keeps it on well. Above all, keeps me dry!! Is great in anything from a constant drizzle to pouring rain. Bright, cheery color makes dreary days better. Love it!

Great jacket! (But poor return policy -- read the small print!)
Great jacket and very flattering fit. I debated between the large and extra large so ordered both. (Usually wear a size 14 or 16). The large fits perfectly, even with a fairly thick sweater underneath. Buyer BEWARE however -- you only have a small window of time to return items. I didn't pay attention to that and am now the unhappy owner of an extra large jacket that can't be returned. (If anyone needs a coral extra large -- let me know! Will sell at a discount!). So except for the short length of time to return unwanted items, it's a great jacket.
*** Update *** After complaining to Charles River about their obscure return policy, they informed me that they do not sell direct. Rather, it is AlumiGogo that sets the 30-day return policy limit, as AlumiGogo is selling directly to the customer. SHAME ON YOU AMAZON!!!

Charles River rain jacket
Not sure how I will like it yet Hasn't really rained since I got it. I do like that it has a mesh linning so I will be able to wear it walking (breathable)
I had to return the 1st one a 2x way to small. I normally wear 1-2 x depending on style had to get a 3x barley fits in hips I like that it has a 2 way zipper so it won't be a problem Will post after I have had a chance to wear it

I am very happy with this rain jacket
I am very happy with this rain jacket. Wore it for the first time yesterday and received several compliments. The color is really pretty.
It is a little big in the chest area for me, but fits around my hips - lifelong problem. I would recommend this jacket.

Very waterproof just a bit snug
I am anywhere from an 18/20 to 22/24 on top so I went with the 3x. It is snug in the hip/stomach area (I'm curvy so big boobs bug butt) but good room in bust. The fabric does not have one ounce of stretch and does not breathe, so it's great for waterproof just gets stuffy. They do have some vents cut in which is nice. I guess I just wish it was roomier in the stomach and hips. Black color looked nice and half the price of most similar products.

Haven't worn it in the rain yet
I just got this, so I'll come back and update the review Once I actually wear it in various rain conditions. However, in the meantime I would like to review the fit and such.
The fit across the shoulders and in the arms is slightly tighter than I would like. That said, it's still not too tight to wear a hoodie underneath. It would be uncomfortable to wear multiple layers or a heavy sweater under this. I got the extra large and am currently a size 14/16.
The quality appears to be quite decent with nice stitching and sturdy-seeming material. The proof will come when I actually wear it and we see how it stands up to use. I don't see any problems in the workmanship. I like how light it is. The color is great, exactly how it looked on my computer screen. I love the reflector strip because it means that I won't have to wear extra reflectors when I go running at night.

Pleasantly surprised, nice fit for 2XL
I was pleasantly surprised with this jacket. I'm 5'5" with a 45" bust, so I bought the 2XL. Usually this type of jacket doesn't fit well, where the sleeves too long and the length is weird. That was definitely not the case with this jacket. The sleeves are just right. It doesn't bind across the chest, and hits just above the hip without looking too boxy. Very good value!

I like It...
First I will say, I love this jacket: solid construction, it is thick but not to thick - firm, won't blow in the wind like most thin windbreakers, perfect for windy and rainy days, pockets are deep enough...won't lose anything, nice roomy hood, and not to long for short people like myself ...5'0. BUT...the cut is straight - I take a XL I ordered a 1X; the fit is fine, so if you are small at the top and wide at the bottom, you will have to go a size larger....you will have a lot of room at the top. This should have been more on a A-line cut. I will order the XL to compare sizes, because of the top factor, but the hips may be the problem....

Love this Rain Jacket
Love this rain jacket and the fact that it is waterproof. It is very well made. It has a 2-way zipper and the lining is so soft. The side pockets have zipper closures. The sleeves have a velcro strap for adjustment. The underarms are vented. It also has a great hood. I bought this jacket in a black medium. I buy all jackets in a medium and find this one fits as expected. I do think I would order a large if wearing sweaters, etc. in the winter. Overall, I really am happy with my purchase and would recommend this jacket.

Well-made , tough and pretty much awesome.
I bought this jacket in 2014 and I'm coming back in 2016 to review it because I love it. I moved from Hawaii to Portland and thought I should have one for cycling. Cycling jackets were too expensive. It's bright enough to be seen, but doesn't blow out your retinas. It has awesome reflective trim. And now, having moved to the Bay Area (where oddly it's rained more than it did in Portland this winter) I wear the thing every day (though now I'm walking and taking BART). Put over a sweatshirt it doubles as a jacket. With the vents it doesn't feel udgy, but still keeps you warm. I've washed it, zipped a sweater into the zipper, thrown it all over the place and still the thing endures without a hitch - incredibly well made. I'm 5 ft and petite and the x-small fits me perfectly with room for a layer underneath.
Bonus is now these yellow "Mackintoshes" seem to be all the hipster rage (which is perhaps it's only drawback ;-)
Exceptionally multi-functional addition to your wardrobe.

Perfect Rain Slicker! Great fit.
I am 5'3" and 158 lbs. I usually wear a size 12 on bottom and size 10 on top. The Large was perfect. I can zip it up over my hips and still sit down. It's tight around hips when sitting but not uncomfortable. Very comfy when walking, and I can wear a fleece jacket or sweater under it. It's definitely not petite: It covers my bottom in back and ends at my upper thighs in front...but I prefer that in a rain jacket. The sleeves are of course too long but they easily roll up a bit and the Velcro at the wrists helps. Light weight without being flimsy. I packed it in a gallon ziplock, and it took up very little room in the suitcase. It had a test run for 3 days in not-so-sunny Eugene. 48 degrees and constant drizzle. It was the best purchase I've made in ages, particularly for the price. The red color is true to the picture as well.
