Background: I NEVER drink water. For some reason, I have a taste aversion to it. I actually had kidney stones in 6th grade due to dehydration. I recieved this bottle only 3 days ago, hoping it would help me drink more. I have drank about 64oz of water each day since! It keeps the water really cold and it's somehow pleasing to use the bite valve. I never thought I would be a water drinker...thank you, CamelBak!

Works great just as described. These are pretty expensive water bottle but they do work. We have the non insulated ones so wanted to try the insulated. Bought one, filled it with ice cubes, hiked all morning - ice cubes barely melted. It was just in the mid 70's that day.

Very good water bottle!
Very nice water bottle - we needed a spill resistant water bottle that wouldn't sweat all over our kids backpacks for school and this one does the job.
Have yet to get a spill from it even though it's being toted around by our 4 year old.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, and the one small drawback is that it is a little difficult to drink from. You have to actually bite down a little to get a drink. Once we figured that out it wasn't a problem.

Greta for the gym!
Purchased this for the gym after my other Camelbak cup (different style) "sweated" all over the exercise machines. This one is insulated, so all the water and ice stays cold inside while the outside stays nice and dry. You bite down on the straw to suck the drink out, basically the same way as you bite down on the air valve of a pool float to blow it up. I turned it upside down to see if it would leak, but not one single drop came out. Impressive. I got the Hibiscus color and it's a pretty purple color with a hint of turquoise blue. I put a vinyl decal on mine to match. There's also a loop on the top. I don't know what it's intended purpose is, but I clip my car key and gym membership card on it so I don't have to put them in a locker.

Great water bottle, but sweats with Ice.
Great water bottle. Top screws on easily. The mouth is wide and allows a decient amount of ice in the bottle. Mouth piece is a soft silicone rubber, that required you to slightly bite the rubber to allow the liquid to come out.. It wont spill if the bottle turns on its side.
Overall I like the bottle, only drawback is that I like my water cold, so I use a good amount of ice.. This bottle sweats from the cold.

Perfect for the gym
Reasons to buy this water bottle:
- If you like cold water, this will keep it cold for at least 2 hours
- It has a nice sipper and it isn't hard at all to drink water
- Not too heavy, and easily carry-able (the handle piece is a good size and doesn't hurt)
- Perfect for the gym (no spillage)
I've gone through two of these and although I really like this bottle and will continue to buy it, it definitely degrades over time after a lot of use. Some good things to know are:
- The straw bounce mechanism eventually breaks and so the mouth piece doesn't stay down. This can lead to some leakage through the mouth piece
- The straw starts to fall from the cap, so you will go to drink water and only get air and have to open it to reattach the straw

This bottle helps water defy gravity!
This water bottle is fantastic!
It holds water! Its double walled nature keeps my hands and tables condensation free! And the straw, man, the straw - get this - it bring water from the bottom of the water bottle.. wait for it... wait for it... to the top!
IT'S DEFYING GRAVITY! (Or the suction from drinking creates a vacuum that exceeds the pull of gravity, I can't be sure, I'm no physicist.)
Truthfully, this water bottle is super durable (I've dropped it. A. Lot.), easy to clean and the double walled bottle does keep icy drinks cold longer than a single walled variety.
My only complaint is that if you fill the bottle from the bottom to the top with ice cubes and then fill it with water, the straw will sometimes come out as you try to work it in and break up the ice. Two fixes would be a less bendy straw and a deeper inset for the top of the straw.
But despite that, IT HOLDS WATER, KEEPS IT COLD ON HOT DAYS AND DEFIES GRAVITY! :)

My favorite water bottle
I've gone through a lot of water bottles trying to find the best one for me. This is it! It doesn't leak (unless I forget to screw the cap on, ahem), It's easy to clean, I'm able to monitor my water intake, and it keeps water decently cold for a few hours (I don't love ice cold water so that's not a must for me). It does sweat a little bit at times, but nothing like a traditional water bottle does. The camelbak bite valve is my favorite. I drink more water when my water bottle has a straw that I enjoy drinking out of (unlike, say, Tervis). It also--drumroll, please--fits in the cupholders in my van!

Worth The Price!
This will have to be a time monitored review, however as of the first few days...this bottle is great. I wanted a bottle that would fit into cup holders, have a carrying handle for my semi active lifestyle & have a straw. The purple color was a bonus being it was on sale & is my favorite color. At first the most noticeable change is the wide mouth of the bottle. My last bottle lasted at least 3 years, and you had to add the ice cubes one by one, no longer an issue with the Camelbak Eddy. Second. The straw design is epic. My last bottle would always have "back up" due to temperature changes and would leak. The bite technology is a little hard to get used to at first, but prevents daily pools of water being formed on surfaces. Third. The insulation aspect. We travel extensively & also live in the upper midwest where in the morning it could be 30 and 65 by afternoon. Adding ice to a "normal" bottle would almost always end up with huge pools of water due to condensation not to mention the constant drips that end up on your clothes (obviously water not an issue). The Camelbak isn't 100% condensation free, but it is close. The current humidity is 72% today, and the heat index is around 64, and even though there is some dampness on the bottle, it is nothing compared to some. Life changing...maybe. Lets just say I no longer have to put my bottle on my table or desk with a napkin or coaster. We'll see how it holds us, but so far so good!

My kids and I all like different water bottles for different features
My kids and I all like different water bottles for different features. Love this insulated waterbottle - it is the 2nd one we've purchased. It's one of our favorites because one of my kids prefers waterbottles with a "straw", likes her water to stay cold and likes that there's no condensation. Personally, I like it because the mouth is big and it's easy to fill with ice/water, it's lightweight and easy to carry and comes in lots of different colors.
