Didn't work out for me, but recommended nonetheless
Disclaimer: I didn't actually end up using these. The rim of my aquarium is 8 mm, but I was hoping I might be able to get these fitted despite the recommended 6 mm size. Didn't work out. That's no fault of the company, however, but just my own impatience since clips that are actually sized to fit my aquarium weren't available for shipping for some time.
That said, these things feel pretty sturdy. They have no give at all and a nice, long "shelf" to hang your actual cover off of. These didn't end up working for me, but I'd highly recommend them nonetheless as they are quite sturdy, well-built, and extremely clear (and, thus, relatively invisible).

I purchased a rimless 9 gal AquaMaxx tank from MarineDepot (http://www.marinedepot.com/AquaMaxx_Long_Cuboid_Low_Iron_Aquarium_Nano_Cube_Aquariums_Tanks_Under_10_Gallons-AquaMaxx-UJ94552-FIAQNCNTUT-vi.html) that doesn't come with a lid / light kit.
Luckily, I found these clips and they are a perfect fit for this tank which has 5mm glass thickness.
Although not quite a perfect fit, I was able to use the Perfecto Manufacturing Glass Canopy Aquarium, 24-Inch with the tank.
I had leave off the plastic strip at the back and the front part of the lid that opens, sits on top of the rim due to being just a bit deeper than the tank's depth. The width worked, even with these clips. I'm using one on each side and two at the back, so the entire back portion is supported.
I will post photos later to show what it looks like.

These are big and sturdy
I needed brackets to hold a glass cover for my open top 20 gallon aquarium. Even though the dimensions are advertised they are a lot bigger than I had expected but they work so much better than the very small ones. The small ones often fall when the top is removed and god forbid if they fall behind the tank, you'll never see them again. These a bit more conspicuous but if you don't mind the size it's a great buy. If I had to nit pick it would be that the seller was in China and it took hella long to get them but I'm glad I have them.

[For use on aquariums with 6mm (.236") glass]
If you want to install a folding glass top on a rimless aquarium, you have to use these clips. They slide onto the edge of the side-glass, to support a glass top. These are manufactured in China, but the quality is excellent -- no burrs or rough edges.
Two points of CAUTION when using this kind of arrangement:
1.) Place the clips as close to the top's center hinge as possible!! Otherwise, when opening the top, there's a possibility that your top will 'drop-fold', and collapse into the aquarium!! I ordered 2 sets, to double-up, and guard against that possibility. Works for peace of mind.
2.) Condensation will accumulate between the clips and the glass top. When you lift the top, watch for clips 'adhering' to the top, and falling on the floor!! Guard against this by tacking the clips to the aquarium-glass with silicone adhesive.
Shipment takes quite a while, as they're sent from China, but good quality with free shipping makes it worth the wait.

Reliable clip for my aquarium top. I don't have to worry about fish jumping out of my tank as long as you have a glass top or some kind of mesh with frame to set it on this clip. Love it.

Works just like you'd hope. verify your glass thickness in mm to make sure they fit

Solid but very large for a 16G tank. However, I will use them as backup clips and look for smaller ones.

The opening is quite large. You'll need double stick foam tape in order to keep them attached to thin glass tops.
