Great bike - review from a father of a 2 year old
I purchased this bike for my almost 3 year old son. He loves being outside and riding his tricycle, but I wanted to get him the balance bike because his older brother is having difficulties mastering the concept of the two wheel bike. He loves this bike. I was a little concerned that the lack of pedals would cause him to lose interest because he couldn't go as fast, but on the contrary he can push himself along and glide to go faster. He will not get off the bike and we've had it for two weeks now.
He is a little tall for a 3 year old so I think we will need to purchase the larger seat accessory in the near future, but the box says it goes up to 5 years of age so I expect he will be using this for a while. It is solidly constructed, and the wheels are a solid plastic/rubber instead of tube. It has a very low center of gravity so he is able to control it very well. If your kid loves rolling around on things and being outside this is definitely a great choice for the ages before they move into the bigger bikes.

Best balance bike out there, hands down.
You won't find a better bike than a Strider to teach your kids how to ride! They are lightweight, sturdy and easy to use. My kids started using them at about a year old, and my son was able to transition to a regular pedal bike (without training wheels) in a matter of thirty seconds before his 4th birthday. No joke. These bikes can also take a beating! When you have toddlers and preschoolers, these are bound to get left in places they aren't supposed to. We have accidentally run over my son's Strider with our car two times. Twice! We had to replace a few things on it, and have had to get new bearings for the wheels, but it is still going! It has been passed down to my next son. I recommend Striders to everyone. The only down fall is that it's made overseas. I'd much prefer a bike made in America. Maybe Strider will consider that one day, even if it costs slightly more.

Good Product - Just make sure your kid is old enough
We bought this as a gift for my son's first birthday, having heard all of the benefits that the Strider bike provides in terms of balance as well as the eventual transition to a standard bike. I am writing this review a full year later - because he is only just now starting to use it. It is a good product and I fully expect all of the benefits to come through. He loves it now - but I would just caution against buying this before your kid is ready. I believe that Strider recommends 18 months. We thought we could get away with it at 1 year - but we couldn't.

Poor quality control!
Bought this for my sons second birthday, I will be returning it after a replacement arrives, but two things are off with the one I got. First, the handlebars are really tight, I think my unit has a fit clearance that is too tight, and my son can't turn the handle. I can hold the handle bars and the weight of the bike suspended in mid air can barely can turn the handlebars. Second, while functional it is still fine, my rear wheel is not straight, not even close, not sure how it got past quality control.

Great learning aid
Strider bikes are great! My daughter struggled and struggled to transition from training wheels to a 2 wheeler. Literally months of trying and crashing... One day one of her friends dads stopped by and dropped off their strider. In 2 days our daughter switched to her 2 wheeler and was riding great! That same strider bike got passed around to about a dozen of their friends and taught them all to ride in a couple days to 2 weeks. They are pretty expensive for something you don’t really need very long so get together with a group and get one to pass around. Once they can ride there is no reason to keep them on it.

I've trained 3 kids to ride WITHOUT training wheels before the age of 3! A Must have!
We have used Striders for our last three kids! There is no other way to go in my opinion! From experience brand matters! We purchased a wooden version and the seat did not adjust as well and it was too high for a long time! It also didn't move with as much ease as these! We've had three kids riding peddle bikes WITHOUT TRAINING WHEELS before the age of 3! People are amazed when they see my toddlers peddling down the street without training wheels! I sweat I deserve a commission for the amount of people that I've steered towards purchasing one of these bikes! There really is no other way to teach your child! Most kids don't learn how to ride without training wheels until they are five or older. In my opinion at that point they are too big to learn using this method as the bikes, although they adjust are built small. My kids always get them for their second birthdays and they've had no issue starting to learn!

Hands down the best toy I've ever bought
Bought this for our 3 year old and never regretted it. Buy a quality one like this and you won't be sorry. He rode it daily until he turned 4 and decided to ride a regular bike, which he did with only a few practice runs. He had learned balance and steering already, he just had to learn to peddle at the same time on a big bike. Now our 2 year old rides it like a whiz.

We dig this lil bike!!
I did my research before purchase and I'm my opinion.. this is the balance bike to get! Tires were a big issue on all the reviews.. this one does have the harder foam looking tires.. I was honestly concerned.. but took a chance.. the other one kinda comparable..."banana" I think.. had hard shiny plastic tires and tire reviews were terrible... slick on grass and gravel.. and the handle bars seemed oddly angled.. These tires on the strider bike are fine! And the handle bars look great .. And it was perfect height for our 18 month old who is not on the tall end of the spectrum, lol. We dig this bike! Glad we bought it!! Vroom vroom :)

Buy this already!
I bought this bike in red for my 18 month old boy. He is now 3.5 and went straight to a big boy bike-no training wheels needed! And now his 18 month old little brother is on the strider.. best purchase ever! Worth every penny!
Side note: this bike is super light-easy for an 18 month old to maneuver around and light enough for me to carry it home when the kids get tired of riding.

Best way to teach a kid to ride! Just the thought of teaching my son to ride a bike made me anxious, but this Strider lets him go as fast or as slow as he likes and he's in love! He rides it everywhere, even in the grocery store. There's a BMX track near us so we entered a few races. It's super cute watching the little ones stride along. He's confident when riding and no stress for me.
