Think of it as an insurance policy for when you are sick, or pregnant, or bed ridden.
The ability to "sit up" in bed adds about $60 to the price of this frame. If you have ever had pneumonia, or bronchitis where they encourage you to sit up, this bed will pay for itself the first time you need that. Or if you get pregnant, or break your leg.
So I bought this as an insurance policy. I'm unlikely to get pregnant being a male, but with advances in science you never know.
In the mean time I have found that days when I just want to work from bed this is a decent choice. You don't need strength to operate the mechanism, but you need to be strong enough to lift the mattress. I'm a 6'3" 225 pound male so lifting my 12 inch King size memory foam mattress is no big deal, but there is no way my 115 pound Girlfriend is lifting the mattress to change the bed position.

Not worth the money
Bought this in January
Came with a few of the metal wires on the frame lifted off and poking out.
After having it for a few months the screws began popping off on one side. We've had to replace the screws a few times. And we tightened everything as tight as it could go. We were missing some pieces but easily replacable.
Update: replacing this with a better frame. After loosing most of the original screws and bolts it was not worth the 250 bucks I shelled out for it. My old frame was much better than this.
Spent more money fixing and replacing crap on it then the actual price.
Update: it is now April 2018. The part of the bed that keeps the matress from moving off edge has completely broken off. No pressure applied or anything.
The metal bars have bent on both sides of the bed were it is slept on. And my husband is a skinny rail.
Has now had every screw replaced at least twice.

- Frame is sturdy and fairly heavy duty
- Frame is sturdy and fairly heavy duty.
- It easily holds a lot of weight.
- You can adjust each side or both together.
- Easy to assemble
- Comes with rubber on the legs so I don't have to worry about scratching up the floor.
- High enough off the ground to easily slide boxes under.
- Adjustable frame has to be brought all the way to the top to be let back down.
- Adjustable section sometimes falls a bit when too much weight is put on it.
- Fairly heavy in the box when it arrives and as a result, the box was heavily damaged.
- Adjustable section is a bit hard to move with a king mattress on it.

Happy with my bed. Needs sturdier shipping material.
I loved the price and function of this frame. Overall, I still love the bed. The reasons I've given it 3 stars is because the box came damaged. The screws to hold on the end brackets were loose in the box. I say screws because there should have been four, but there was only one. The frame had also been bent on one of the inner sides, so it took my son and I giving it a little extra force to get it together. I was not about to sleep on the ground for an untold mount of time waiting for a replacement, so I did not call them to exchange it. It was also easier for me to go down to my local Ace Hardware to buy the three screws needed for the bottom brackets.
I upgraded my rating to a four since the company did contact me about my experience. I still love my bed, but since other raters had experienced the same issue I will not rate it a five. Maybe they could improve their packaging?

Very easy to put together & I'm 72 years old
Very easy to put together & I'm 72 years old. However, the nuts and bolts that hold the left and right sides of bed together were too large and just would not work, so I had to scramble for some in my collection of odds and ends. I was having trouble with the bed easily sliding around on wood floor and it could slide rigiht out from under one who has a little trouble getting into bed, so...I took the rubber tips off an old walker that we had and put them on the four legs at each corner. The tips have to be the bigger ones and are round, but I was able to just squeeze them to an oval shape and slipped the oval shaped legs in. Worked great, however, manufacture should have provided them/ These tips can be purchased individually at abut $6 each.( Now the bed will hardly budge, which can be a drawback when you need to move it.). This frame is SO sturdy with multiple leg supports. However we put a 10 inch memory foam mattress on it and believe me this 70 lb (or more) mattress, does WILL NOT BEND ONE BIT. and it is very hard to move around. I know a regular mattress would not bend AT ALL either. I was very disappointed, but, that's life. Also, the legs at the head of the bed are positioned so that one cannot put brackets on for a headboard. ( Another disappointment). But I should have noticed. But we paid extra for that feature and can't use it. If you do buy a memory foam mattress for this type bed, you might need someone to help you lift it on, especially if the bed is sliding around the room with the slippery metal legs. It was a real circus until I figured out how to keep the. bed from slipping.. I hope this review helps you think of some of these things, which I didn't think of, beforebuying and trying to do this yourself...unless you a very, very strong person that canlift a heavy mattress while chasing a sliding bed.

This Is Why I Love Shopping With AlumiGogo!!!
I like to first thank Customer Service Agent Ilda P. For Helping me resolve my complaint and Secondly AlumiGogo for sending me my replacement order at no extra charge to me. I Received both orders fast! Thank You!!..to the product at hand I love it!! Now I'm able to adjust how I sit or lay in bed!! The frame kinda reminds me of those old folding lawn chairs where you can rise the head or feet and you hear this clicking sound as you move it upward also if u want it to laid flat just bring the head part all the way up than press it down, if u want sit up slowly bring it up and u will hear the clicking sound and just stop once u reach the desire position.

This bed is perfect for us
This bed is perfect for us. My husband has medical issues that mean he has to have his head elevated 35 degrees or more at all times. So, up until this time he had been in a hospital bed. I was looking for a way that we could be in the same bed again without having to pay thousands of dollars. This bed is the perfect answer. If I was looking for a bed where I could change the elevation often I probably wouldn't have chosen this bed because you have to bring the elevation all the up to vertical before you can take it back down and then bring it to a different position. For us, though, it's perfect because we need it to be at the same position all the time. Simple to put together, you just unfold the two sides and then bolt them together. It will be easy to move also for the same reasons, just reverse the process. The support for the mattress is terrific and we sleep very well.

It's just OK
Frame is ok, and fairly heavy duty.
Good points: Easy to assemble and set up. Doesn't squeak. Height without box spring is just right.
Bad Points: Adjustable portion is kind of a pain to use as you have to raise it to it's highest extension to re-adjust if you don't get it right the first time. May be easier if not used on a king sized mattress. Adjustable will not stay locked if more than head/shoulder weight is on it. Ended up using it without adjustment, and if I bought another, I would get one without that feature.
Shipping was a nightmare. First time, showed up 3 days late and damaged. second time they sent wrong foundation as replacement which was also late, third time went well as they sent the right replacement, and used a different delivery service which arrived on time finally, but with all the back and forth, it took me 3 extra weeks to get the bed I paid for.

The frame is very sturdy, quiet
I have COPD and needed a bed that could adjust upright. I bought this frame several months ago and wish I bought it sooner. The frame is very sturdy, quiet, and has supported over 500 lbs. easily, (relatives sitting on it) visiting me while I recovered from surgery. Frame has kept its shape, has protectors on end of legs (my wood floors are not indented or scratched) and frame is high enough off floor for added underbed storage. It's true that it is difficult to adjust head of bed with only one person. I have a queen size. And, a few major screws were missing upon arrival. No biggie, items from my tool box worked well without hassle or problems. I too would like a handle/mechanism for easier adjustment of head of bed. Still rate it 5 stars due to it's affordability, it does not require box spring mattress and overall ease to setup. This frame also works great for elevating swollen legs/ankles. Just reverse yourself in bed----head to the foot of bed, prop up legs! Would recommend to anyone.

I only gave this frame 3 stars because it did not come with the connecting hardware to join both sides of the frame together. We ended up using zip ties to keep the middle from separating. But the biggest annoyance is it did not come with the advertised mattress bar on the bottom to keep the mattress from sliding off when you recline it. If I knew such a key feature would be missing I would have just bought the normal flat frame and saved some money. I am greatly disappointed that I did not get what I paid for ! As far as the other parts of the frame seem sturdy and I love that the head can go up....But I can only put it up a little since the mattress stop bars were not on and therefore the mattress starts to slide off.
