Might save you hundreds of dollars at the dealer
My 12-year-old remotes began to fail. One has trouble locking. The other, unlocking. I've pulled them apart, and the design is simple. A carbon button on the flexible keys bridges contacts on the printed circuit board. There didn't appear to be much that can go wrong. I feared that I was looking a few hundred dollars were I to replace them. (A dealer needs to reprogram them to your car, limiting your lower-cost options.) I feared that something was wrong on the circuit board. I saw these cases in a local auto parts store (for twice the price) and thought I'd check on-line for them. For this price, it was worth buying two and see if they worked. Within minutes of bringing them inside the house, I had transferred the circuit boards, and they worked perfectly again! It seems that the carbon buttons wear down to where they no longer make contact, or perhaps a conductive layer is worn off. You can see the difference in the buttons comparing the old and new.
As for the quality of the part, you cannot tell these from the OEM parts. I strongly suspect that Dorman IS the OEM supplier for GM. (I've found other Dorman replacements for GM parts before).
As the picture shows, this product comes with two different backs to fit different models with one part. One back has the battery contacts in the case, and the other does not (which matched my remote in which the battery is mounted on the back of the circuit board). Do don't panic if you get the package and the back you see does not appear to be the right one. There are two in the package.
I am rarely thrilled this much with a product. Make that aging vehicle act like new again at a very reasonable price.
By the way, these come in a nifty camo pattern for a few bucks more, if you want to be a little different. (Might not be great if you tend to misplace your keys often.)

I bought this remote case to replace my original GM key fob cover and was very disappointed. Initially I had a hard time trying to carefuly force the internal component panel into the case. I also noticed that the contact points that match up to the lock, unlock and panic buttons on this replacement case were a lot smaller than the ones on the original key fob. Once I snapped it together, I tried to lock and unlock my doors and it didn't work. Had to pry it apart and attempt to force it back in and then if finally worked, but only for a short period of time. I had an issue with my tire sensor light flashing and had to stop at Tire Barn. The guy comes back with my keys in hand and asked me if I had another key fob because mine didn't work. Huh...how could that be I asked because I just used it and it worked fine. Thinking maybe it was a bad battery, I stopped to buy a new one and that didn't work either. Had to eventually switch back to my original shabby looking GM key fob. Needless to say I was very disappointed. If you're going to make a case, please be sure that the contact points are full sized so that they will match up to the original GM fobs.

Save your money and buy from dealership...
I just received my keyless remote for a 2008 Envoy and this thing does not fit or does it work. First of all the circuit board will not sit down into the rubber holder with the buttons on it. I tried putting the rubber holder in the case first and then the circuit board, well that didn't work either. The lock/unlock/panic bottoms will not sit into the openings of the case. I had my brother who is a parts manager for a major auto company try to get this thing together but even he failed. I'm really disappointed. I read all the reviews and hoped they were correct and that this thing really worked. Guess not. So my advise is spend a little more money and get it from a dealer because this one is useless.

OK but not as good as genuine GM unit.
I generally like Dorman products, but they didn't make this like the O.E.M unit. This Dorman unit has buttons that are not recessed and they push too easily. I had to take it apart and disable the horn button because it was activating while in my pocket. I have used it for 3 years now and finally got tired of it unlocking my doors by itself. You had to be very careful walking away from your car or the door may be unlocked when you get back. I have a genuine GM unit now and the buttons have more resistance to activating and are slightly recessed.

Refreshed my 12 year old remote to new!
The remote on my 2003 Denali was looking pretty shabby - dirty buttons, scratched all over, cracked in one spot - and this was a perfect exact replacement It comes with 2 different style backs so it will work with remotes that have either the battery mounted to the back or mounted to the circuit board. All in all, money well spent!

Dorman soft buttons: ...are not equivalent to OEM markings
Dorman soft buttons: the soft button markings are not equivalent to OEM markings. Time will reveal how the button markings will hold up. Markings have a cheap-look to it. If you are particular, buy the OEM Replacement version. EVW 012918

Works great!!! Old remote (original OEM 13 yrs old) wouldn't even work within a few feet of the truck. Read online that you can clean the carbon contacts or add foil, but ended up trying this out. Swapped original electronics into the new remote case, took longer to open the package than it did to swap the parts over. As I said, works great. Can even lock/unlock the truck now from inside the house.

Worked great nice fit...
Item arrived undamaged. Got this for my mother to replace her broken one.
Very easy to follow instructions and only took a minute or so to switch out the broken case for this one.
Works well and once assembled impossible to tell it is not the original case.
Recommend this to anyone who needs to replace their remote case.

Great keyfob case!
My old remote from my 2006 trailblazer was faded, cracked and couldn't figure out which button was which anymore. When the case arrived, I replaced the small electronic board inside the old case to the new one without any problems. It works great!
