I've had my Fuji q4 gold for about 9 months. I've used it quite a bit, two full kitchen jobs, various smaller jobs, a painted trim job, maybe some things I can't remember from all the fumes! I'm very happy with this purchase, glad I got the quieter version, if others are any louder I wouldn't know but much more noise would get old, very tolerable though for big spray jobs and many times its outside my garage while I spray, or even in the house while I sprayed out in the cold. I've sprayed both water based and oil based paint and polyurethane with amazing results. I'm getting good now and some jobs I just couldn't be made any better they are just about perfect and short of a higher quality spray booth it won't get much better. It took a little time to get used to the controls and how to mix things but I've gotten better at it and learned to not just "go with it". Once you find out what it can really do you get better and better at hunting for the perfect balance of settings and mixtures. Now I can just look at what I'm mixing and know what it needs to be sprayable. Right out of the box I was spraying things with the air fully open and when I was done would have paint on the ceiling and 15 feet behind what I was spraying but now I know the controls and last week I sprayed a whole house worth of trim inside a nearly finished house with very little mess! Set the pattern, dial the fluid back, and then I adjust the air flow down to what I like and I can really control the mess! If you get one be patient, get the needles recommended for what you are spraying and learn how to make it work for you, you will not be disappointed, can't be the work I've done with it speaks for itself! Only gripe is getting the lid screwed on right, you will know if you didn't get it tight enough, hard to grip the top well, but if you keep the treads clean and make sure they are seated right and the kid is tight it works great.

Great Sprayer, Painter Needs More Practice/Experience
I am a seasoned hobbyist furniture builder and this is my second HVLP system. When I buy a tool, I spend whatever I have to to get the best quality because I find it always pays off (for example my Saw Stop cabinet saw and Festool Domino joiner have revolutionized what I can bujild in my shop). The first sprayer I had was (not a Fuji) a disaster, could never get reliable results no matter what I did. On my first (2) attempts with the Fuji, my results were initially disappointing, but this turned out to be a fault in technique. I was spraying a very high grade finish latex on some cabinets I had built and I over thinned the paint based on reviews I read. The next time I used very little water and results were 500% better. I can see (like anything) the air, pattern and paint feed adjustments are critical and interdependent; also, how dense a coat you try to spray. I'm excited to have a 'reasonable' means of paint finishing cabinets without the hassle of brushing. I hope this sprayer will represent a 'breakthrough' technology that will encourage me to build more paint finished projects. I will write an updated review in a couple of months after I've had some more experience.

I am happy with the choice and have been having good results
I bought this system for small batch painting of cabinets/trimwork. I really wanted something that was easier than my airless setup for this work. I am happy with the choice and have been having good results. Coming from a background of airless and high pressure spray guns, I have found it easy to use and transition over to hvlp. I have been spraying BM advance paint and both oil/wb primers with no problems; just get the right tip sizes. I haven't used it for lacquers, but it should be a joy. Why four stars? The nylon cup is a pain to get sealed. I know it needs to be clean and tightened properly; but even trying to take care of that, it still leaks a bit sometimes and takes tweaking. 5 stars is perfect. I did need customer service to step in for some initial shipping damage- first rate support that was quick.

Great sprayer all in one package
I have to say that i am quite impressed with the quality and output the fuji puts out. its lightweight and very portable. First time i ever used the fuji and i used it for 3 consecutive days running the motor for about 10 hrs a day with several breaks in between. there were no issues and so far so good. The Q4 is supposed to be quiet and its not too loud. The gravity gun worked flawlessly. i like the pressurized cup system but my only issue is that its not very easy to put the cap back on. sometimes when in a hurry, and constantly filling material, I missed the threads and when i squeezed the trigger material dripped out everywhere. I think the cup and cap needs better threads. Also, i feel like everytime i screw on or off the lid, its wearing down the cup. i see scratches on the inside already. i hope they sell replacement cups because the guns are expensive.
I bought two guns. for different materials and i am glad i did. i was able to switch materials without having to clean out the gun. Overall i really like the system and hope it holds up to the test of time. the finish was flawless, the fan and fluid adjustments are super easy and they stay in position. i adjusted it once at the beginning and sprayed for 3 days. i know other guns you have to adjust each use.

Highly recommended HVLP Spray System.
I have used a lot of HVLP spray guns, both stand alone with a standard air compressor, as well as with a turbine and this is by far the best I have used. I use this setup primarily for spraying glossy, water based protective coatings on photo canvases, as well as cabinet finishing and I have never used an HVLP setup that was this easy to use, and with ability to put down such a high quality, even finish. The material is very well atomized and the fan puts down a very even coat.
I have been reading about Fuji spray systems for years and never wanted to spend what this system cost. But, after using it, I wish that I had purchased one years ago instead of buying all the less expensive HVLP spray guns I have over the years. Quality tells and you would not be disappointed with this system.

Hoping for better results to come with more experience
I have only used this three times so far so my review is limited to my experiences thus far. First use was with latex paint which it handled okay but it had to be thinned quite a bit. The next two times were with lacquer which sprayed better, however, there were still problems with occasional spitting of large globules which, in the case of the lacquer, caused problems ruining the finish. I'm hoping the problems are related to my inexperience in adjusting the flow and not with the unit, but it is too soon to tell. I saved a little money buying this unit as a warehouse deal which was supposed to only have cosmetic damage. In reality, the threaded spindle on top was inserted at an angle. I didn't realize that it was wrong at first not being familiar with the correct design of the tool, but when it started leaking at the top, I corrected the problem. It had probably been dropped or smashed in handling. I don't know if this caused the spitting or not. Future use and more experience will tell the tale.

lays down a beautiful finish. I also switched from the bottom feed ...
I purchased this unit after returning the Fuji Semi-Pro system. I paint regularly from my home garage and the noise levels with the semi-pro were simply not kind to my neighbors - I live in Charleston SC...lots are small! I'm excited to say that the Q4 Platinum is MUCH, MUCH quieter than the Semi-Pro. The system is high quality, and with some trial and error, lays down a beautiful finish.
I also switched from the bottom feed to a gravity fed gun. I felt the bottom feed was a little heavy when fully loaded with material, thought the gravity feed would be lighter. It is indeed lighter, but the gravity fed gun seems to have a seal issue that causes material to leak from the threaded lid of the pressurized cup. It's more of an annoyance than anything...constantly having to clean up the cup and gun. My husband recommended putting a wrist band around it - kinda works!

I was very happy with the noise level
I was able to use this system on a small project. I was very happy with the noise level. I've been on a site where the other hvlp turbine is at an unbearable screeching noise. This one however is still a bit loud but not unbearable and pretty much no screeching. The gun feels very well balanced and easily adjustable. I was able to spray thinned latex paint out of the can and had no problems as many other reviewers had mentioned.
I've had a cheaper $300.00 Graco HVLP and boy what a difference! The spraying is so much easier and balanced that it seems that I'm able to paint so much more with less paint. The parts also seem it will hold up very well. I haven't been able to spray an oil based paint so we'll see how long all the gaskets will last after cleaning them with paint thinner or acetone. Probably won't have too much chances since they're not really selling much oil based products here in CA. Overall I'm very happy with the HVLP system!
On a side note be sure to get a cleaning kit I used the gun and luckily someone else had a cleaning kit with them. I don't this I'd be able to clean all the orifices with the single brush that was given with it especially if it were oil based.
After several more chances of getting to use this I'll see if I have any other further updates or reviews.

I love my new spray rig
I love my new spray rig. Fuji is a great company, I've contacted them several times with questions, and they are more than willing to accommodate! The seller asavings very good. The only tip I have is to buy the correct air cap so do a little research. The one that comes with the gun is not great with lacquers.. the output is too high. The air regulator is not a regulator its a cutoff valve, so impossible to be very accurate as with an actual air regulator. The air cap is what regulates so make sure you have the right one. This rig is amazing!

So far, so good
Happy with my Fuji Hvlp sprayer so far. Long time airless sprayer so there is a bit of a learning curve, but can see the potential for lots of use on smaller projects where less than a gallon of product is needed. Having an issue with nylon cup inlet defect and cup lid sealing properly. Customer service has been great so far and replacement parts are on the way! i will update if any further issues persist and will change my positive review accordingly so as to be a helpful reviewer. Probably would have given 5 stars if not for the leaking issue that caused a big headache on my maiden voyage.
