I bought this to move air from the room in my basement with the pellet stove to the bedroom above. The thermostat function on it works really well. I really don't think this fan is all that loud. I'm a light sleeper and it's just minor white noise to me. Going to be ordering 2 more before winter for the other bedrooms.

These fans definitely move air better up through the air vents
These fans definitely move air better up through the air vents. I live on the third floor apartment of a large house and I can definitely feel air moving out of the vents even if I'm standing a few feet away. Without these vent fans, I'd have to place my hand right above the vent in order to feel air moving up!

Awesome! Helps for the rooms far away from central AC
I looked at all the various units, and I'm extremely picky on items I buy. The units have a rheostat (Temperature control) so you can set it to come on when your central air kicks in, EXTREMELY COOL (pun intended) feature. This unit is silent, efficient, has a solid fan, and works great
In a nutshell:
Fan motor very powerful
Fan motor is silent, you cant hear it at all (unless you stick your ear to the vent)
Works very well
Cools off your rooms where your vents are at the furthest run from your furnace/central air
Pushes out the air, back into the room quickly

Great vent fan
This vent fan works great. It drew up the cool air from the vent and distributed it through the out the room. Now the upstairs bedroom is cool during these hot days and nights. Going to buy another one.

GOODPRODYCT BUT SMALL
GOOD PRODUCT BUT A LTTLE SMALL FOR MANY FLOOR REGISTERS THAT ARE 4X12 OR 4X14. IT DOES NOT USE NOISEY COMPUTER FANS BUT INSTEAD A REVOLVING SQUAREL CAGE WHICH MOVES MUCH MORE AIR

When we got them we set them and dropped them place. They have worked fine since. What a difference in our upper bedrooms.

but now it works great. It is right next to my bed and ...
I do think this makes my room cooler. I'm looking forward to the winter to see if it helps with heat, too. It took a few adjustments to get it to kick on when the air did, but now it works great. It is right next to my bed and it's just like a quiet fan (it's quieter than my ceiling fan, actually!) I don't know if it's making a difference in my energy costs. I'll have to compare after a few seasons. Overall, good value and works well.

Great little fan, it's not dead quiet but it resonates in a lower, less whinning frequency, so it doesn't annoy. After buying one, I bought three more. Heavy AC chord, not a wall wart. It's also made with a steel top plate, not plastic like many others. We put one in a bedroom you can hear it if you listen but its fine.

works great for hot bedroom above garage
I bought 2 of these because like most vents - our 2 vents in our huge bedroom lie directly underneath the windows (who plans these things?!?!?)
I bought one of these for each vent and we're doing much better this summer. Great product.

Great solution to my A/C problem
I've been using this register booster for over a month now with no problems at all. I got it for our master bedroom which is located on the top floor on the side farthest away from the A/C unit in the basement. It DEFINITELY makes a difference in the room temperature. Before I installed it we were seeing temperatures in our bedroom about six degrees warmer than the main floor. The booster fan improves this by about four degrees.
When the fan kicks on, you can certainly hear it, but I'm pretty sensitive to noises when I'm trying to sleep and I don't find the fan sound to be particularly irritating.
The product is well built and reasonably priced. Installation is ridiculously easy - plug it in to a 3 pronged outlet near the register and replace the old vent with this one. The manufacturer has an easy to follow YouTube video on how to adjust the thermostat so it turns on and off properly. I suppose I'll need to re-adjust it when winter comes, but it's very quick and easy to do.
I looked at several others that seemed over priced and had many poor reviews. I decided to give this one a try based on the price and the manufacturer's install video I watched. I would not hesitate to recommend it to my friends.

Great item!! Unit is very quiet, and makes a big difference in our home
Great item!! After reading many reviews, I was wondering if it would be loud. Neither my wife or I can hear it without effort. My hearing is good, the unit is quiet. I had to buy a 10" and my vent is 12" long, so I wish it were available in longer unit. Air flow is very good. We have a wood furnace, same as a forced air oil or gas, except the fan speed is slower, so the temperature sensor probably takes longer to detect the furnace fan running. It works fine. I put the unit in the duct and left it to adjust to the room temperature. Pulled it out later, and turned the setting on the thermostat and then put it back in the hole.
Next day, temperature in the room was about 2F cooler than the room with the thermostat. Before installing the unit, was around 6F cooler. Can't give a 5 star unless the unit works for at least a year... but I'll revisit after I see if the temperature sensor in the unit holds up.

Returned, just didn't work for us. Seemed like a good products.
Returned, wouldn't fit our vents, plus no outlets near vents.

... stove into my living room and this fan works great for me
I am drawing heat from a basement that has a wood stove into my living room and this fan works great for me.It has a fairly low flow rate but over time it does the job. It is quiet and the thermostat works fine.

So far, so good.
This unit takes a little tinkering to get the setting correct, but it brought the room up a few degrees. I thought it was helping well enough to add a second unit since it is a large room I am cooling.

Pull more air in older house.
I have older house built without AC ducting. AC unit was added recently and using the same heating ducting. Thus, not enough cool air can go to the upstair bedrooms. Here is the solution.
This is the 3rd unit I install in my upstair bedrooms. They are pulling more air than the the passive registers. Sometimes, they are running for no obvious reason! Don't panic but adjust the sensitivity level and it will stop again.
I wish it can detect hot/cool season so that I don't have to change the switch twice a year. I wish there is a more powerful unit ...
There is noway this can fit in my 4x14 open. I have to break the existing passive register and flush this onto it. Then I tape it with ducting tape. They don't look like original design but what can I do? I wish they come with various adapters and one for my 4x14 opening.
The other two was working for 2-3 years without problem so I think they are reliable.

Working well, easy installation
I have only had this register booster for a few weeks, but it seems to be working well. It was easy to install and seems to be increasing the a/c circulation.
