Small and not durable
These are smaller than what I was looking for. I don't think I would get anything better for this price. While assembling, one of the dowels to connect the door with the panel came off. The door doesn't attach properly, but stays there because of the magnet inside. The thin sheet that covers the sides of the panels was also coming off while assembling. The panels are not marked properly so it may be hard to figure out what goes where. I don't see that as a big problem though. I wish it were a little bigger and that that part had not come off.

Great shelf, but wrong dimensions stated
Really love this. It's small, but very functional and the price is pretty decent, too. The reason why I gave this product 4 stars was because the dimensions that are stated are not what they are. I bought this shelf to put in the empty space I had between my closet door and a window and I measured it out to be 23 inches wide of empty space that I had available with my closet door completely open. Assembly was very simple, as usual with this brand's products, but when I put it in the space and opened my door, I questioned why I couldn't open it completely. That was when I realized the product dimensions error when I measured the shelf myself. It's honestly just a small thing, though. I can still open my closet door pretty much 95% all the way. I just found it misleading that they gave the wrong dimensions. Still overall very happy with this shelf! The measurements I had were: 23.6 inches (Width), 42 inches (Height), and 9.2 inches (Depth).

I Love it.
I Love it.. I had a small corner I needed something for nick nacks and pictures and like the cube look, but the doors are great to give it character and hide a few things.. I was a little challenged with the stamped letters in the assembly- but quickly got the hang of the pattern.. of how it fit together..
I didnt like the door knobs- clear acryllc looking.. So I went to lowes and bought some cute small pewter ones.. I had to use my drill with a small bit and drill completely through the cab door- gently..and then I could install my knobs.. It looks great.. I think its a good buy for the price-
It arrived quickly and everything was in order, no damages,

Assembly was tougher than anticipated -- but shelves look great for the price!
Overall, I totally love this shelf. I'm a pretty motivated do-it-myself-er, & this assembly was tricky but not totally impossible. Definitely do it when you have time and patience. It requires a lot of both. Overall though, for the price -- what a steal! The shelves look wonderful! The size is great, too. 31.5" height & other measurements were dead-on.
Instructions are mostly in Chinese, but just look at the pictures, which are labeled in English. There's no helpful narrative in English in the instructions. Pictures only. If you struggle, follow these instructions (because it's pretty tricky):
Assembly was surprisingly time consuming. Lay out the pieces. Each piece is stamped with a Red letter (A through G, I think). A few of the pieces are 1-of-a-kind letters, even though they look the same size as other pieces. Use the SCREWS to hold horizontal shelves in place from outside of each side, into the bottom of the horizontal shelves. Use the DOWELS (little wood pieces) to hold the middle shelves in place. Use the BLACK PLASTIC CYLINDERS to hold the swinging doors in place. The DOWELS & BLACK CYLINDERS fit into pre-drilled holes IF you line the shelves up right.
START Assembly with the bottom piece. Add both Vertical sides by putting the screws into the side of the 1st horizontal shelf from the side, through pre-drilled hopes. (Always PAY ATTENTION TO THE PRE-DRILLED HOLES on all pieces BEFORE adding the next piece!) You must line the holes up with where the middle dividers, the magnets (purple plastic/metal), & swinging door hinges (black plastic cylinders) will end up going.
On the inside of the 3 doors, there's a single hole for the flat philips screw. That is what sticks to the magnet to hold the cabinet door closed. Make sure the magnet holes line up with the magnet. They can go on the top or maybe the bottom, but you've got to pick top or bottom for all 3 magnets & all 3 doors. Mine ended up on the top, inside each door. They're working just fine & staying in place w/ no problem.
Now, BEFORE YOU ADD THE 2ND VERTICAL SIDE to the 2nd horizontal shelf, make sure to add the middle divider, then the 3nd horizontal shelf, & the swinging door. Once that stuff is in place, screw the 2nd side of the 2nd horizontal shelf into place. The order of assembly in this regard it important otherwise the items held in place by tension only will NOT fit & you'll have to take the screws out of 1 side in order to make the tension-only middle divider & swinging door items fit.
It may seem out of order, but if you screw both sides into each horizontal shelf, then you can't move the horizontal shelf up or down (a little bit) to add/squeeze-in the middle divider (held in place only by dowels & tension) or the swinging door (held only in place by black plastic cylinders & tension)!
I made this mistake a couple times. I also failed to line up the pre-drilled holes w/ the magnets & swinging doors a couple times. These mistakes caused me to take some side screws out & flip & switch the horizontal shelves so the holes would line up for the swinging door corners & magnet holes. Hope this saves you time.
The back is a single piece. It unfolds and will be nailed to the edges of the backside at the end. This is the only piece you use the nails for!! Make sure the finished side faces front (so you see it through the open shelves from the front).
Put plastic door knobs on last so you don't break them while nailing-in the back piece.
Don't throw the pieces around during assembly. They finish is scraped off fairly easily.

A cute, lovely little bookcase!
I love this bookcase. There are NO fumes or chemical smells when you first open it. It is small, so make sure you read the measurements given in this product's listing, plus view the provided photo of the bookcase with the measurements labeled (you can find the photo in the product photos section). With that info, measure anything you plan to place inside of it *before* purchasing. This way, you'll know what you can and can't fit in it. It'll fit most books up to about 9.5" tall.
The listing says "some assembly required", but in actually, it's full assembly required. It took me a good 2 hours to put it all together, but that was because I made a few mistakes along the way. It's all good, I managed to get it all assembled and it looks great in my tiny apartment. A little bit of patience is all you need when putting it together. Don't do it when you're stressed out or are in a hurry.
The door handles are very cheap plastic, but what do you expect from a $35 bookcase? All in all, a great product! Just be sure to do your homework and take the proper measurements before buying!

Much smaller than anticipated.
Over all this is a pretty good. Only 2 pieces were broke (both being knobs) but I didnt like the ones that came with it so that was fine with me. I didnt have any issues with assembly although i did put it together twice. The reason i did it a second time was to use wood glue and a few l-brackets to help reinforce it as it was a little wobbly without. Now, after a week it seems to be holding up well as a toy/book storage area in my 3yo's room, where he has constant access to it. Also when I initially order this product it was less than $20 but now I see the price has increased to nearly $30. I would pay the $20 again but due to all the extra reinforcements it needs to be truly stable, I would not pay $30. I know it's not that much of a different but with the added cost of the glue, new knobs and brackets it evens it out.

Disappointed and Frustrated in DE
Received this cabinet without instructions (we were able to download the them), there were pieces of hardware missing and no labels on the shelving. Luckily my husband is creative and intelligent and was able to visualize how it needed to be put together since the instructions were horrible. This unit was clearly a return since the bag with the screws was open and ripped apart and a piece of magnet was broken. Very disappointed with the product packaging. Even had to buy new screws and make dowels for the center pieces. If I wasn't so desperate for the shelves, I would have returned it myself. All in all, with our creativity we were finally able to figure it out and the unit is cute (with my own handles). Won't buy from this company again though.

Poor quality, lacks stability and poor customer service
Beware of this product. Poor quality, lacks stability, arduous assembly and poor customer service. The case of the shelf is so unstable that there is always a risk that the shelf could fall and hurt anyone trying to use it, especially it can be disastrous if you have small kids at home.
I know, not many of us may be looking at terms & conditions in a great detail before purchasing, please note that this vendor OJCommerce does not accept the assembled unit for return. Unfortunately, as in most cases, the product in packaging does not show up its defects. However, it was only after I and my wife assembled the unit, we came to know that the unit was not stable enough and could potentially fall on someone, and could be disastrous if that someone happens to be one of our little kids. Also while assembling the shelf, the outer laminate started peeling off proving its poor quality.
Also note that for every return, they will charge you a flat 30% restocking fee and you will have to pay for the return shipment as well. While I understand this may make sense for scenarios where someone made a purchase by error or just wants to return because they found something better, this vendor accepts no accountability for the poor design and quality of their products. In my case, I failed to understand how this vendor could even ask for return shipping for such product flaws, let alone the restocking fee. It appears to me that OJCommerce does not want to accept the fact that they have delivered flawed products with poor quality.
Last but not the least, it is very hard to reach to this vendor for customer queries. For every email, they will send you an auto reply and no number to dial. So no real people to talk to. Again, I would suggest to stay away from this vendor and this product as much as you can.

Nothing lines up right. It's all uneven. and the cheap wood overlay flakes right off. Very cheaply made. only 2 of the boards had the letter stickers on them, make the instructions utterly useless. and for whatever reason there holes on the top for nothing and not stickers or anything else to "hide" them. There was no long board that would not have had holes in the top... Very disappointed. For the price I was expecting far better quality. When I contacted the company to let them know I didn't have stickers on the boards so I wasn't sure which boards to use where, the customer service rep told me that that happens. And just look at the pictures and I would figure it out....

Surprisingly difficult to assemble
I will admit that putting together furniture is not exactly my forte, but the instructions were not in English. There were some pictures but they were kind of shy on detail, and didn't make clear what distinguished similar-looking parts from each other - this was a problem with the 12 different kinds of screws/pegs/nails, but a bigger issue with the four boards that form the two shelves and top and bottom; these have holes drilled so you can assemble them correctly. It should be pretty easy to figure out which pieces go with which, right? I don't know how I messed it up twice, but I did. The first time, I took it apart and started again, but when I got it almost all together and realized I couldn't attach the doors because the holes weren't in the right places, I gave up (on the doors). Also, the little pegs they include to secure the vertical shelves are just balsa wood - not very sturdy, and at one point while I was on my second attempt I knocked something while trying to install the second shelf from the top and several of them snapped, leaving some of the pegs stuck all the way into the holes (and no extras to replace them with even if I could get the pieces dislodged). I decided it probably wasn't crucial to the structural integrity of the bookcase and got out my glue gun.
It's fine. It's a bookshelf. It's got a veneer which is semi-obvious but not super tacky. The doors would maybe have looked nice? But I'm using it for books, so it's probably more functional without them (if not quite as nice looking?). It was also $45 with free shipping, which is pretty cheap. It's a little smaller than I expected, and the instructions, which are printed in a character-based language I can't identify, seem to suggest an upper weight capacity, but I've got it fully loaded with hardcover books right now (including the top shelf) and it doesn't seem to be straining under the weight, even without those pegs in the middle. For $45 and prime shipping, I'd say I got what I paid for. It's fine.
