Great for travel/sleepovers!
I bought this in preparation for a move from Germany back to the US. I wanted to get it ahead of time to let our daughter get used to it, since all of our furniture would be packed up and on a boat for a loooong time.
I had her take naps in it at home instead of her crib (13-14 months old) and for date nights, I would bring it to the babysitter's house.
It fit easily in our big luggage for the flight back to the US and it wasn't heavy at all. It fit perfectly under the "desk" built into our hotel room and you can see Chloe didn't have an issue sleeping on it. She was able to crawl up on down from it with no problem. She does tend to...migrate...when she sleeps, so we would put blankets or pillows down if the floor wasn't carpeted.
I would and have recommended this to friends and family.
Pic 1 - 15 months old (babysitter's house)
Pic 2 - 17 months old (hotel in Germany)
Pic 3 - 18 months old (hotel in US)
Pic 4 - 21 months old (in our new home!)

Excellent product for a very reasonable price
** NOTE: I purchased this late March 2012. I believe I have an updated model as compared to the description of the product in previous reviews. **
Now that my kids are a little older, my wife and I plan to do a little more traveling. Unfortunately the entire family sleeping in a large king sized hotel bed is becoming less of an option. We decided that purchasing travel cots/beds would be the solution.
There were some key features we were looking for:
* First, we wanted a bed that was economically sound :) I'm sure anyone reading this who has more than one child understands that when one kid gets something, the others have to have the same. In our situation we would need to purchase 2.
* Second, we wanted it to be compact when stored as we have minimal vehicle space already. As with the previous note, we would need to cram 2 into the car.
* Third, ease of assembly.
* Fourth, durability. This and the previous note pretty much does away with an air mattress. I've had plenty of air mattresses in my time and convenience and durability have always been questionable.
In searching I came across this one and another one that was very close to fitting the bill. Unfortunately the other one cost more than twice what this bed cost. considering I had to by 2, the choice was obvious.
I was a little concerned about some of the previous reviews. They have noted that the center support strap is too tight and it creates an elevated section in the middle. This would obviously make the bed uncomfortable to use for anyone who had to lay across it. There were enough positive reviews that I decided to go for it and see if I couldn't adjust the bed to make it more comfortable.
I am happy to say that the bed is better than I had expected. Especially so because of the cost. As I have noted at the start, I believe I have an updated model. Perhaps Regalo had read all of the more negative reviews and took them to heart. There is no strap in the center but instead there are criss-crossed straps on both sides (I have attached pictures so you can see how it's supported now). There is still a slight hump in the center from the tension of the fabric between the two center supports but it's not bad. My little girl doesn't mind and she actually asks to sleep in the bed each night.
Hope this helps anyone who is thinking about buying this. Honestly you can't beat it for the cost.

Great for naps
My son naps at his caregiver's house on this cot. So easy to set up and put away, it just unfolds and folds back up. This was the next sleeping situation after the pack n play, and it is working out so well. We do put a cotton crib sheet over it because the sheet that comes with it isn't very comfy-feeling.

Optimistic that this one won't break...otherwise my daughter LOVES it.
So - my daughter almost hyperventilated when she saw this she was so excited - you'd think we just made all her dreams come true for life. So, from that perspective my girly-girl daughter loves it, so I'm already at 4 stars.
I'm holding out to give it five stars because this is replacing a blue cot that seems identical (except color) to this one. We had to replace the blue cot because one corner tore apart after maybe a dozen uses or so. Also - the screws that hold the legs on need to be tightened every few uses (or apply some thread lock). Because of past experience with this brand, I'm unable to give it five stars, but for the price I bought a replacement of the same brand. We have another blue one that has held up pretty well - so I've got hope that we can make this one last.
Pros: my daughter LOVES it
Cons: we had a bad experience with a cot in this same product line (the corner came off)
If I could change anything about this product: make sure it never breaks!
Construction Quality: for the price, it's decent, but since it is literally the cheapest kids cot I can find on the market, that also means something - you get what you pay for. Works well for occasional use, but past experience with other cots in this product line says don't plan on it lasting for your kid's whole childhood.

Comfortable and Convenient
Ordered for a vacation had purchased one two years ago for my eldest son and it still great quality. Both my children 3 & 5 used while at the shore and slept comfortable. Keep in mind that my 5 year old is out growing his so if you have a taller child this might not be a cost effective option in comparison to other sleep products.

OK for 19mo old
Was unable to use the cover because it has elastic that makes the cot fold up. Without the cover, it works as expected except the support through the middle causes there to be a lump (like a bar in a fold out bed). My 19mo old couldn't lay across it because her back would be hyper-extended. She ended up having to curl up on either end which had more of a hammock feel to it. I'm not sure if other cots are better but ultimately this worked for our needs. We used it hotels and my daughter was able to get a good night's rest on it.

... the kids sleep in/on while on a trip visiting loved one's who don't have space for all four of ...
We were in need of something to let the kids sleep in/on while on a trip visiting loved one's who don't have space for all four of us. I wanted something that kept them off the hard floors and this seemed perfect since it semi scoops the child and would essentially let them still feel tucked in and as if in a bed. And hey, it's kind of cool looking to a kid right?
Our 3-year-old and 7-year-old (both about 40"-45" tall) fit comfortably on this and immediately and excitedly got on it. I love that we can use their own pillows and blankets, letting them still have their own personal comforts.
There is not a metal rod in the center. There is a criss-crossing of structural fabric but it doesn't bother either of our children. I'm very happy with the washable cover that goes over it as we still have night time accidents at times.
Of course a child could fall out of this, but you would have to intelligently assess whether or not your child is ready for this kind of open sleeping. Our children both sleep in their own beds now, with the 3-year-old in a toddler bed and no rails on the side. Neither of them regularly fall out, though occasionally we'll find someone bent over their bed as if they'd gotten out. Even if one of them rolled off these cots, they're low enough to the ground that they wouldn't be hurt and maybe not even woken lol. Again, you'd personally have to assess for your own child and I wouldn't put a child in this that isn't in a toddler bed at the least.

Great Travel Bed for Out of State or Hotel Stays
We reluctantly ordered this as an alternative to our "play yard" which we took on 6 out of state trips when our LO was just under 1 years old. We needed a travel bed and hotel cribs or play yards were not going to do it. There comes a point when kids grow outta those play yards and even though we haven't completely switched to a toddler bed at home, our toddler was very proud of having her own bed and having it be her size. She did surprisingly well in it & I must say, you get a lot for only $20! Hopefully you can catch it at that price. It packs up much smaller than a play yard and much easier obviously. It's so nice, this is exactly what we were looking for!

It's basically one of those canvas looking lawn chairs that go in a bag for easy carrying to sporting events but a cot! It doesn't have any cushion at all. We use a fluffy quilt folded up between the cot and it's cover as padding. It works well. My toddler loves it, that's all that matters!
Oh and it comes with a bag for easy carrying.

First use: perfect. Second use: scary for kids.
First use: perfect. Second attempt: the cot folds itself up when no one is holding it down by actually lying on it. The way it moves on its own is super scary for the toddler whose "bed" it is supposed to be. No one dares sit on one end as pictured. It behaves better without the sheet. My guess is that in its second washing, the sheet shrunk just enough to no longer fit just so. So not OK. As others have said, this cot desperately needs a simple locking mechanism. The surface of the cot is like a light canvas -- not an ideal sleeping feel, but acceptable. I'll ask my grandson use the cot for one more visit without the fitted sheet, then throw we'll the the whole thing away since the surface can't be laundered and I am not a gifted enough tailor to create a new sheet to fit just so.
