I finally bit the bullet and spent a little more on this Cuisinart and I am so glad I did
I have tried several of these type Choppers over the last couple of years but I always took the cheap way and bought plastic which never lasts very long at all and everyone that has tried one of these knows what I'm saying. I finally bit the bullet and spent a little more on this Cuisinart and I am so glad I did! It works better then I could ever have imagined. The only thing I might recommend to the company is to include with the chopper a small brush to help cleaning between the blades. It's not too difficult but a brush designed for that particular item would make it perfect.

We had a chopper for smaller amounts (e.g., a clove or two of garlic) that worked wonderfully in connection with hand blender. Then the company inexplicably changed the product and the replacement - and all others we have tried since - seem to have been designed by people who never use them, with ribs that do nothing but make it harder to get things out, etc. This chopper is a winner, no electricity required, no ribs so easy to get chopped food out, easy to assemble, and to disassemble for dishwasher - we love it!

Blades are dull
Blades are dull and not easy to clean. I've had this kind of chopper before, but this one isn't as good as my last one. I'll see if I can sharpen up the blade of this one and make it stop crushing things and start cutting them. Plastic guard doesn't prevent them from getting dirty and must be removed to clean the blades. Just not a great product.

i had one of these from a different company and i absolutely loved it. Too bad my roommate took it when he moved out. I decided to go with a more fancier/better brand so i found this Cuisinart one. stainless steel would be a nice addition again.
One thing i dont like about this is that you cannot take out the blade like i could in my old one. If you want to clean it, you have to wash it with the entire top. Also, you cant keep the blade down in case you want to scrape off the chopped item. Both making things super inconvenient. The next thing i had issues was having to twist the bottom and top. it gets annoying and takes time trying to clip it on.
Save your money and get a different one...

Difficult to clean
This item is durable and works well. However, it is difficult to clean and its cery easy to get cut in trying to.

Disappointing because it doesn't chop evenly, therefore cooking is inconsistent. Renders a combination of pulp and unchopped chunks. The best way to clean it seems to be with the faucet sprayer, my dishwasher hasn't worked well.

After a few tries the item which is supposed to turn after each push is not working this I have to constantly twist the entire unit prior to hitting it again to avoid items not being chopped properly. Even then some items which stick to the outside remain whole and not chopped up

Don't waste your money!
This was truly a waste of $ and I was unable to return it because I threw away the packing. I have tried to make it work but the blades fall out constantly, they cut very little and aren't at all sharp as the advertisement suggests and when I push down, it comes down ridiculously slow. I am going to buy an electric one which is probably what I should have done from the beginning!

Some usage suggestions...
Got this to replace another brand that I broke through operator error. Put too big of an onion chunk in the old one and cracked it. Two things I suggest with this style chopper...You have to smack the plunger pretty hard, and don't put anything in it that's as tall or taller than the cup. Works great!

I wanted to purchase this to chop small things like onion, nuts
I wanted to purchase this to chop small things like onion, nuts, cilantro, etc. It does chop fine, but more stuff gets stuck on the blade then ends up in the tray.
