Easiest piece of furniture I have ever put together!
Easiest piece of furniture I have ever put together! enough room on the slide out for the mouse and keyboard. Nice little pencil drawer. Plenty of room on top for my all-in-one computer and a writing area. It is very heavy in the box and needed to go upstairs...so...I took all the pieces out of the box and assembled ends and drawers and hardware in everything on the dining table, then took the sections upstairs. Put the modesty panel onto the end pieces, put the top on and added the center piece with the drawer glides already in place. Stood it up and put the drawers in it. Slid it against the wall and set up the computer. Every thing fit exactly as it was supposed to. Now tomorrow I get to put the second one together for the sewing room!

Assembly is fairly easy. Pros
Assembly is fairly easy.
1. It looks good and there are other furniture in the same model line of products
2. Keyboard can be hidden via the sliding tray and looks like a drawer when closed.
1. The back brace / board does not provide enough support
2. Slightest move sideways causes the anchor bolts to rip out of the particle board
3. No angle brackets that would stabilize the the back. It's really wimpy.
4. design needs to be finished by the end consumer, if you want it to be stable and not fall apart.
Other than the above, it is functional, but not a good design in terms of stability. It needs to be handled very careful when moving it from one place to another. Best is to use two people anyway, since it is rather heavy for on person.

Nice looking, well made desk for the price.
For all those complaining, it's a $96.00 desk! What do you expect, an antique masterpiece? For what I paid, I am very happy. It looks like my friend's $2000 desk from Restoration Hardware, and although the materials are not the same, and it is made cheaper, unless you abuse it, it will last. The desk took a couple hours to put together with ease and the directions were clear and easy to follow..... and to the people complaining that pieces are mislabeled and you couldn't put it together, all i can say is, for the 2 parts that were labeled differently (the code was mislabeled on the part but the name wasn't so not really a mislabeling), it was very obvious where the parts went anyways, and if you still couldn't figure it out they have online videos. All in all, it's a sturdy, nice looking desk, a superb value, and the company is American, so I would highly recommend. I wasn't paid a penny for this review, didn't get any incentive to write it, and paid full price for the desk.

Love this desk. Very easy to put together, and didn't take long at all. Great quality for the price. We use this in our kitchen for the computer, perfect size for that.

Love my new desk!
I needed something simple and that would match my cabinets in my art studio and wouldn't break the bank so I got this desk. My husband and I put it together in 20 min. It is a nice desk for the price. I was expecting flimsy by some of the reviews but it is actually nice and sturdy. For the price you can't beat it. I recommend this desk. It looks great, is easy to put together and is sturdy. I have my monitor and printer on it with a label maker and there is still plenty of space on top. I liked that it had the key board draw and a side draw which is all I really needed. So Yes great desk.

Pleased enough to order matching pieces
I knew I wanted to furnish a guest bedroom with Sauder furniture because of the good value, and chose to order Shoal Creek after considering Carson Forge and Palladia for a long time. The desk was an experiment to see if I really liked it, and I'm pleased enough with it that I will be ordering more matching pieces to complete the room. It's sturdy and was par for the course as far as assembly difficulty (directions were clear enough for someone like me who knows what a screwdriver is but is no master carpenter; assembly by myself took a couple of hours). I did have trouble with the small right-hand drawer, but I think the fault is mine on that and not the product's. The wood-grain film on the particle board is pretty resilient - I don't know what others were expecting for $100, but the quality is enough to withstand normal use and I don't think anything but deliberate abuse or a true catastrophe will harm it. My only warning is that I feel it's a bit darker than the picture on AlumiGogo makes it look, but in my case I prefer the true color.

Fell Apart After Less Than A Year....
...of use by a little, old lady. My initial review of this desk was that I loved it. However, here we are less than a year later and, as I sat here typing earlier today, the tray holding the keyboard fell onto my lap because the piece that held the runner on the right side broke. I'm a 70 year old woman and the only one who uses this computer, so it isn't as though there has been anyone around to abuse it or put too much pressure on it. I bought it less than a year ago and now, as far as I'm concerned, it's garbage. It's too bad; it fit my decor so well and I sure did enjoy it while it lasted.

Very nice desk, assembled fairly easy and is pretty sturdy
Very nice desk, assembled fairly easy and is pretty sturdy. The drawers definitely have to be adjusted but not a big deal. I currently use this desk with a new 27' iMac and it's perfect! The keyboard tray is the perfect height and very comfortable with a wireless keyboard and mouse. I love that the tray tucks away nicely as a drawer. The only downside is the back is bare wood so if you don't butt it up against the wall then you'll have to find a way to cover it. Otherwise it's an overall beautiful desk at an affordable price!

this is pretty good desk
I have to say, I was a bit skeptical, considering the negative reviews. But, after the 2 hour installation time, this is pretty good desk. The downside is that, it can, and should only be placed against a wall. I truly believe that, if the manufacture completed the desk, meaning no part was left exposed, this would be an awesome desk! Would I recommend this desk, absolutely, but I also understand that, not all the desks are created equal.
