I have a 2005 Honda CRV that was burning one quart of oil per tank of gas. YES you did read that correctly. Car was abused before I got it, but now I have to fix it. Pulled the engine apart and found scoring on the #4 cylinder wall and a damaged piston. Replaced all 4 pistons, rings, and rod bearings. Took this hone to all the cylinder walls with a little "extra" in #4. All the bores came out factory perfect, except #4 which I would give a 8 out of 10. You could still see some vertical lines but it was 95% better than before. Hondas stance is do not hone, just install rings, and if you can catch a scratch with your fingernail, the block needs replacement. Well I wasn't replacing my block, so this was the next best thing. Put it all back together and the engine runs perfect. Car does not burn a drop of oil and the oil is still golden. It would be black from blowby within 500 miles before. Very pleased! and highly recommended.

Absolutely better than old school stones; a perfect crosshatch is a click away.
Bought this to rehone the 3.8 Buick cylinders after trying to use them old stone three arm hone devices. I have no idea why I ever thought that contraption would ever work. This thing is a beast. Takes seconds to use properly and I didn't have second thoughts about putting the crank back in and hooking up the Pistons. If you ever plan during your mid-life crisis that you must rebuild an engine, save yourself some time and get this and the next grit under and use these to perfectly hone your sbc or whatever man.

Best way to hone.
These are the best brushes for honing your cylinder walls. I got nice 45 degree hone marks. It works VERY fast you put your drill on low speed and try to time it so you get the right degree of marks. It leaves a TON of residue so plan on power washing your block with cleaners. 3 to 5 passes is all it takes to clean up the walls. Remember you are removing glazing not boring your cylinder wall.

Works great! Not as deep cutting as honing tool with stones. Used this as a starter and finisher. Leaves a great finish! I used this on my 2.5L Subaru

Works as described.
Works as described. Super tight fit. Works best with someone to hold the block you're working with.

Worked great for honing a Ford 289
Worked great for honing a Ford 289 .030" over. If using an electric drill, swap batteries after the first bank.

Performs exactly as expected.
Worked perfectly on my Deutz F3L912. Left excellent pattern. Absolutely no surprises. Engine runs clean, smooth, like new.

Works great, just remember to use oil or it gets aggressive.
