A great game that will grow with my children
A great game that will grow with my children. Currently they use it to develop their memory of addition facts. As they grow there is a lot of skill to use in the game in order to get the best score. They are currently grades K and 3 in math.

Just love this game
We got hooked on regular shut the box and saw the double shut the box. Just love this game, it is so sturdily made. It will keep you entertained.

Wonderful little tin o' fun!
I love this game in this tin! Wonderful package of fun and a pretty good quality for the price. The tiles flip easily, the playing area is flocked for easy rolling of the dice. It's a cute little tin WITH A COVER and I think it was well worth the money. Nice.

This is a very simple game to play. From kids to adults. It is a single player game that plays very quick. 3-4 minutes per game. Easy for many in the group to wait for their turn to play. Bragging rights easily established among a group of people playing the game. Trash talking may be involved. It's such a quick game, 5-6 people can run through a game in a 20 minute period. Then the trash talking begins. Really a lot of fun. Even by yourself for a few games in a row. Can you beat your previous score? Can you beat your husbands previous score? What's the bet if you do beat his score :)

This looks like a fun game. My youngest daughter had one similar to this many years ago. Everybody had fun playing with it. I am hopeful that this one will be just as much fun.

Fun way to practice math
This one has been a hit with our kids. They are asking to play with it, so you know it is keeping their interest.
A subtle way to work on math, I always make they say out load the value of the dice and add them together. A great way to sprinkle math facts in with family game night!
Easy rules, quick, so you can play a quick game before bed or spend 30 minutes playing multiple rounds.
Not overly competitive, which is nice so everyone can feel like a winner.

More fun than I thought it would be.
I never played "Shut the Box" before getting this one. I thought after reading the description of the game that it wasn't going to be much fun. I bought this solely on the positive reviews. I am pleasantly surprised! I actually love this game. I bought this for my 7 year old daughter's birthday and what an excellent education tool it has been for her addition math facts. Basically, you try to shut the box on your turn by rolling the dice, adding the numbers together, then deciding which tiles you want to shut down. You keep doing this until you roll a number that cannot be added on the tiles. Whatever is left is your total for that turn (only count numbers that are showing, not those covered on the second row). Then it's the other person's turn. Keep score. The person who reaches 100 first loses. Another way to keep score is to give the winner of the round 1 point. The first one to 5 wins.
I've shut the box one time, my daughter twice... what an exciting event that is!! :)

Bundles of Fun
Family friendly game. You can play alone or with others. The rules are simple for early/beginner readers. The game also provides an excellent way to build math, practice identification of basic colors and challenge problem-solving skills.

7 to 68 all enjoy
Love a game that's not in parts and has difficult rules. My adult daughters and 7 - 12 year old grandsons enjoy this. On advice from a friend, I didn't sit down with them to play; I left it on the kitchen table and their curiosity got them! I still leave it out and when they come buy, they usually stop and play. Another great thing....you can play this alone or challenge others! Plus, it's tin and not the flimsy cardboard boxes most games come in these days.

Bought this game for my 7 year old goddaughter, having played it with my best friend's kids several years ago. It's been a big hit! She loves as much as they did.
