Classic! The stamped lid sealed the deal for me.
You can go just about anywhere in the world and people will recognize the iconic "click" of a zippo lighter. Their durability and dependability are unmatched and backed up by a lifetime warranty! I dont even smoke and wont leave the house without it. All of this is made even better with the high polished brass finish and lid that is stamped "SOLID BRASS". Through the years Ive owned several different zippos and this is by far my favorite. Its been carried for several weeks now and has already started to get an awesome patina that will only get better with time! This was originally purchased so I could run the Thunderbird Butane Insert in it (reviewed here https://www.amazon.com/review/R23FROSLYMZ7WD/ref=cm_cr_rdp_perm) but it turned out to be junk so I sent it back and put the regular insert in it.

Designed & Made in USA, the one and only...ZIPPO!
Great piece of genuine Americana! Superb qualuty product, beautiful craftsmanship and detail. Nice heavy feel to it, bright polished brass shine, long-lasting wick & flint. Fires up each and everytime flawlessly. Wind-proof steady flame. The case is literally 1.5x thicker. Feels great in Your hand, and the lighter insert is seated solidly without any play. Absolutely great made in USA product worth far more than the $20~ I paid for it. Thank You ZIPPO!

It's a Zippo. A great Zippo. Nuff said.
I carry a lot of stuff in my pockets, so I appreciate any streamlining. The Zippo slim does need to be filled more often than the larger Zippo, but once you develop the habit of how often it needs another little shot of fluid for your level of use, you're set. Reliable, reasonably windproof lights from one of the most dependable names on the planet. The solid brass is nice, tho I do wish they hadn't stamped "Solid Brass" on it. But the protective lacquer has worn off mine now and it's starting to get the look and feel and character of brass, which I dearly love. If you love a good thing well-executed, if you love years and years of dependable use, you'll smile every time you flip open the top and spin the wheel. You can feel the quality. The precision. It's a Zippo.

Solid Brass or Bust
I have owned many different styles of Zippo over the past 30 years and it has been my experience that the Solid Brass Zippo is Zippo's most reliable lighter. I don't know why being solid brass makes a difference, but the solid brass lighter doesn't feel as cheap as others in the Zippo line. When you roll the wheel to light it, the solid brass Zippo has a more tactile feel to it. I've had problems with other non-brass Zippos being less than 100% when it comes to lighting every time. Why is there a difference, I don't know, but for me, there just has been.
For me, it's Solid Brass Zippo or bust. Unless someone can show me a non-solid brass one that can perform as well, this is the only lighter I will buy.

Does the job
Purchased this lighter as a replacement for a faulty Zippo I purchased at a smoke shop. If I were reviewing that one, I would rate it -5 stars, if that were possible, but that is another story.
Functionally, this lighter was as expected. It works fine, but as you may know Zippo has a tendency to cram the wick in the casing at the top, instead of evenly snaking it through the cotton, resulting in slight fuel loss. This is an easy fix and a quick Google search will help you with that.
This particular point is not at all a downside for me persobally, but if you choose the high polish finish, prepare for it to be gone within days if you carry this lighter in your pockets. It scratches extremely easily (it's brass, which should be expected), and mine has quite the patina going for only having it about two months.
My major gripe with this lighter is its centering. The top pivots on the pin and has not been centered since the day I opened it. The top and bottom are never aligned and the top can be moved freely from one side to the other.
As others have said, the extra thickness of the "armor" is hardly noticeable, though I do like the rounded edges and the shield stamp.
Another thing to note, while the outer casing is brass, the inner lighter itself is not. I believe it to be the standard stainless steel insert, because with regular use it has worn down revealing a silvery undercoat.
So functionally, I do enjoy carrying this lighter, but for an American made product the fit and finish are lacking. Good price here compared to local shops.

Anyone got a light?
Great quality, great price. Can't go wrong here. The armor series is really nice. I have around 10 zippos ranging from the 1940s all the way to recent years that I normally rotate through on a weekly basis; however, I have only used this lighter since I purchased it. as it is my new favorite lighter. Only thing I would change is the insert. I would rather see just a standard steel finish on the insert instead of the brass finish. It wears quickly and looks unsightly compared to some of my other steel inserts that have been used for far longer. The armor case is awesome. Tight hinges and lovely deep sound when it is clicked open and shut. I have sent many lighters into zippo for repair over the years and the friendliness that zippo shows through their warranty program is one of two reasons why I always carry a zippo. The second is that they are still manufactured here in the U.S.

Classy Brassy Zippo!
Purchased the armor series plain brass finish. This is a lighter to pass down to your kids. Same quality I have come to know and expect from a legacy lighter manufacturer. Great case, fit and finish is spot on. Brass does dull out within a few carries but I think it gives it a nice vintage look, and it gets lots of comments. Not as many as my Navy Zippo but almost. Good lighter, good price. If you dont have a Zippo you have an inferior lighter my friend.

Great little Zippo just if you plan on making this ur primary cigarette lighter grab some extras flints (and of course fluid) the little hole in the bottom of the cotton flap holds an extra one perfectly been using it almost 2 months and love it and don't forget every Zippo has a life time warranty how could u go wrong it's a good looking less bulky version of the greatest lighter ever made

kind of split here
on the one hand, the insert was already a little beat up, already scuffed and scratched. plus the bottom end of it was crushed more than a little bit such that the insert was very loose (turned the lighter upside down and it fell out) and also such that you couldn't lift the bottom felt layer without a paperclip or needle or something.
on the other hand, I know zippo will repair and there is lifetime guarantee, and I've heard they are awesome about it. plus, it only took me a few seconds and a flat screwdriver to gently bend the bottom sides of the insert out back to normal shape. so now the insert sticks and stays put like it should, and the bottom felt can be lifted with a fingernail like it should.
this is only the 2nd zippo I ever bought, first was a street chrome from amazon (amazing price for a zippo) which was and still is perfect in every way. guess I am just a little disappointed in quality control. just glad it was so minor and easy to fix.
but the outside is flawless, and the lighter is functionally perfect. also really nice is the slightly heavier outer case, you can easily feel the difference.
